Heat & Grip & Flaming?
- Does Heat from Hell affect fire-immune creatures? Does partial resistance help?
- Does Grip of Winter affect cold-immune creatures? Does partial resistance help?
- does the armor piercing effect of Flaming Arrows still work on fire immune units?
thanks!

Re: Heat & Grip & Flaming?
Follow up question.
Flaming Arrows, and Flaming Weapons, count as magic weapons for such things as bypassing etherealness.
Does that just apply to the fire damage or to the regular damage as well?
Does it apply if the target is immune to fire?

Re: Heat & Grip & Flaming?
I'm pretty sure that,...
Etherealness negates your ability to hit a creature. Since the fire damage from flaming arrows/weapons is only dealt if the arrow/weapon hits in the first place, it is safe to assume that either both normal damage and fire damage land, or neither do.
I would guess that being immune to fire and ethereal doesn't change the chances of fire weapons hitting the monster - though the secondary fire damage wouldn't be dealt.

Re: Heat & Grip & Flaming?
Flaming arrows makes the arrows magical, and causes an additional fire effect if it hits.

Re: Heat & Grip & Flaming?
So a summer lion would still be hit by the arrow even though it's immune to the additional fire effect? Interesting.
Are there any spells that make melee weapons magical? Weapons of Sharpness? F9 and D9 blesses?

Re: Heat & Grip & Flaming?
Weapons of Sharpness does not. (Didn't in Dom2, at least. Pretty sure it hasn't changed.)
F9 does. I assume D9 does, but not sure.
