(Gosh darn it! I just went to check my game in Doms I and accidentally hit the "end turn" button to exit, and ran a turn without orders, which of course can't be undone... I don't have the heart to look what happened.)

Looks like my max dominion in that game is 10 even in my brightest areas with temples, but I don't remember what I chose at start up.

Yes, I never saw anyone past 10 dominions in Doms I. Nice tweak if it can be bypassed in Doms II.

<font size="2" face="sans-serif, arial, verdana">If you play your single player games as "PBEM", then ending a turn doesn't automatically host and play the turn...
