Re: whats a good solo mod?
yeah i had the system names problem also a while back and as Fyron says, copying the SystemNames.txt from the FQM directory to the directory where the mod you play resides, solves the problem.
The SystemNames.txt from FQM is quite large. > 500 Kb [ May 10, 2003, 21:12: Message edited by: minipol ] |
Re: whats a good solo mod?
Thanks again Fyron, after I posted that I went back just to double check the file size, I really thought that it got copied over(but it didnt). I take it that I needed that file when the universe was generated?
Also, the new map dont seem to have asteroid belts. Is there any specific map that seeds more of them? I am looking through the QuadrantTypes.txt atm. Thanks Makinus, I might go to that next, going to try this out for now. Ohh btw, umm Brazil...tan hott women http://forum.shrapnelgames.com/images/icons/shock.gif |
Re: whats a good solo mod?
Umm... all of the quadrants are nearly the same. Most of them use the same setup as Mid-Life, but have different system organizations and such. So, any of the FQM quadrant should give systems with asteroid belts. Kepp in mind that some systems won't have an asteroid belt.

Re: whats a good solo mod?
The system I picked Balanced Mid-Life (Large) has
Type 12 Name := Asteroid Belt Type 12 Chance := 25 but has no Type 40 Name := Double AS Belt Type 40 Chance := 42 Lines of code, so I take it if I want a system that has planets AND asteroids I need to find a Quadrant that has both of the above with some amount greater than 0. Also, thanks for your patience. |
Re: whats a good solo mod?
The balanced quadrants are a special case. They are designed mostly for PBW gamers that just want there to be an equal number of all planet types and atmospheres.
