Have given bbz admin access - very sorry for the long delay guys.

Also sorry for the llamaserver quirks. It's been a bit odd - I think perhaps the hosting provider has been having issues because it seems like emails just didn't get through consistently for a few days.

Heh this turn was awesome. Permakilled a Pretender and repelled a wanne-be siege.

Interesting times indeed!

Are you able to provide more details? I have very little visibility of what is going down, and love hearing about things like this.

Re: Newbie/Intermediate FF game: A Totally Civil Union [send pretenders]

Sure thing.

HoleyDoley thinks he is funny and was using a dormant (i guess) immortal Risen Oracle to solo around. Flame Brand, Horror Helmet and some more stuff. At some point he thought he might just leave friendly domain. Sure enough, he had Astral 2 or 3 on his guy, which is really bad idea for Magic Duel. So, i teleported 2 Druids to magic duel him and obviously, against the odds, lost. This however didnt stop Rebourne the Risen Oracle from venturing outside of his domain. Last turn, he was really courageous, travelling into dominion -7. While buffing up, some guy of mine got a Paralzyze in and a couple of Smites and Hoof-Attacks later, he was gone for good. Since Rebourne is a rainbow, even a resurrection will cost him plenty of power. Than, and my guys found a bunch of items.

http://prntscr.com/b3hj3

I could have beaten up Holey several turns ago, but unfortunally he was abusing (that is my point of view) the imbalanced (again my view) PD of Agartha, so i could never attack him, but only defend. You know, PD 20 adds Darkness and there no way you can beat it early to midgame. Long story short, i sacrified most of terrain to Abysia will doing as much damage as possible to Agartha. Finally culminating in this splendid kill (among others).

Nightfall June 25th, 2012 10:43 AM

Re: Newbie/Intermediate FF game: A Totally Civil Union [send pretenders]

EA Agartha having darkness on PD is a well known fact, and rushing him without something to deal with it was your mistake, trying to insinuate that HD is in any way exploiting is very poor form.

Ragnarok-X June 25th, 2012 11:00 AM

Re: Newbie/Intermediate FF game: A Totally Civil Union [send pretenders]

Your assumptions are wrong. I did not rush any one, in fact Agartha rushed me, taking a province on a mountain range, therefor opening me up to attack 3 provinces of mine and immediatly getting darkness up. He then advanced to the north and again, darknessed up. My army was superior (in my eyes) and i had mages but i could not attack due to darkness.
Please do not talk like you know a thing about ingame actions between Maverni and Agartha.

In addition, i said **i believe** darkness PD is op, and by the way, the general concensus seems to be that it indeed is.

HoleyDooley June 26th, 2012 09:24 PM

Re: Newbie/Intermediate FF game: A Totally Civil Union [send pretenders]

Ragnorak, your an idiot, state the facts as they are not what you would like them to be.

I did not rush you....you picked a fight with me. I had no intention of fighting you early...but YOU left me no choice.

Yes Darkness is OP and will be addressed in the next cbm patch, thus picking a fight with me early was NOT the smartest idea you have ever had.

Oh, and you diplomacy just sucked.....really sucked.....thus you will be eliminated from the game shortly.

I made mistakes in this game...freely admitted....I hope to be as perfect as you in my future games.

Bye bye ragnorak.

HoleyDooley June 26th, 2012 09:45 PM

Re: Newbie/Intermediate FF game: A Totally Civil Union [send pretenders]

On the other hand, as I have found out, attacking with Agartha is no easy task given their stats....so defensively good, offensive is sad compared to most other nations.

I agree with the extension that is needed. I changed the hosting interval to 36 hours. This should be ok for a while(until turn 40-50-60) And then we can change it to 48 hours and after 20-30 more turns if it gets to there to 72 hours.

Re: Newbie/Intermediate FF game: A Totally Civil Union [send pretenders]

Well, my god aspirant met the mighty cyclops pretender of Marverni on the battlefield, and prevailed. The one eye has been sent to Hades, to see if his priests can call him back once again.

That was an interesting gamble there - glad I concentrated my forces, you would have smashed any one of my smaller armies if you'd caught them. Such is the luck of war!

Re: Newbie/Intermediate FF game: A Totally Civil Union [send pretenders]

Sometimes you win, sometimes you lose.

Its no big deal though, im only in to hurt Agartha since the last 10 turns. All except 2 provinces of mine have been captured by abysia, agartha, jotun and now ocenania is joining in with 3 SC Triton Kings.

Funny thing though, Abysia got a lesson in manner. His 120 size army was annihilated, i lost 1 mounted commander.

Yay for fun !

Hey, guys.... Oceania got TWO gemgens. I mean, that`s +45 gems out of thin air and a perfect position to attack most capitals... On a nation with great SC-chassis. Are we going to do something - or just sit there and watch him running away with the game?
CBM Oceania is a decent nation, not what it was in vanilla.

I was wondering when the other players would realize it. Just this turn he landed 3 fully equipped SCs on my coast and he has a MAJOR bless plus two gemgen enchants.

More than a little alarmist and misleading, unless of course your definition of 'out of thin air' is somehow code for a huge investment in research and gems.

Pretty rude too, since I've been pretty nice and helpfull to you all game... I suspect the main reason though is that I beat you to Earth Blood.

Guess you'll just have to make do with Mother Oak and GoH, which I expect will be along shortly.

And the only buff I can see in CBM for EA is an extra random on the Kings, not sure that even makes up for the loss of natural clamming ability.

By the way, since I've gone to a lot of trouble to have scouts; I actually know, rather than just guessing, who's in the prime position at the moment. But strangely I don't feel the need to spew it out in public.

As for your 'suggestion', well, thanks to Ragnarok, I think that most of the other players will realise how horrid fighting my sacreds will be underwater, espescially when backed up by Kings, and that I'm still not a major threat to them on land...

Two globals. Two gemgens. One of them being the second best gemgen in game (the first being Arcane Nexus, and that says something).

True, but you`re really the biggest fish in our small pond currently.

Never was a part of my strategy - too much Agartha/Marverni in this game.
Quote:

Maybe. Or maybe not. Pan doesn`t really need GoH, you see - all Pan forces have recuperation and very long lifespans. And no native Death access in EA to leverage tartarians.

So we totally should give you time to leverage your huge multi-gem income into endless streams of Wendigos and Hidden in Snow. Yeah, sounds very smart. :)

I think by now its perfectly obvious how strong Oceania is, income wise and and bless. I dont think any one other player does have 3 fully equpped SCs making landfall.

You only need 2d on your god to craft a skull staff and summon first wendigo. And then in several turns it`s big enough to summon another wendigoes. It`s not like tarts, where you need to climb all the way to D7 (so you need either a D5 pretender, RoS/RoW or unique scepter) and then not many of them are capable of summoning each other.
But even if you don`t have D - grendelkin are fine too. Or you can get into D game with krakens. You have more than enough W gems for it.

Re: Newbie/Intermediate FF game: A Totally Civil Union [send pretenders]

Most amusing turn.

I managed to nail one of Marverni's (=Ragnarok X's) marauding armies, with a bunch of communioned druids in it - overall, a quite satisfying victory, except that he nailed my pretender god on turn 2 or 3 with a soul slay. Well done, buddy - revenge for me nailing your pretender a few turns back :-D

Also, there is this tongue of land about three provinces wide to the south of me. Lanka originally owned it. Then Pan invaded it, with a larger army - but once you are in the corridor, there is not way out (unless you want to start a war with another country) - so then an army of Lankans followed the Pan dudes up and trounced them. Then Pan did it back. Then Lanka again. And now a HUUUUGE army of Pan dudes is marching up the corridor. Truly, this most excellent viewing :-)

Well, honestly, i would have expected a few more kills. Of course, once the druids started to target your guys with amulet of anti-protection and to make it worse decided to cast blade wind, it all went to hell. But, at least the Snowman is no more :D

The Snowman has melted in heat of the Marverni sun :-)

Yeah, when I replayed that battle I though I got lucky - it could have ended very, very badly for me!

I plan to defeat Oceania by attacking Marverni. If that fails, I have a crack squad equipped to parachute into Oceania and grovel for mercy - crying and pitiful appeals to "think of the children!" will only be employed as a last resort, unless my guys go off script and cast soul slay or the like.

Re: Newbie/Intermediate FF game: A Totally Civil Union [send pretenders]

Once again the sun set on the siege of Kailasa. The circumvallattion of the city was complete; armored mermen patrolled the earthen ramparts, keeping a close eye out for gorilla warriors. Inside the city, a haze of magic flickered and crackled in the night, but in the tents of Oceania's mage corps, it was quiet.

"I hate the land," muttered Shamem. "Three," he added.
Otyg slid three cards across the makeshift table. "At least we just have to sit here. Let the tritons do the fighting," he said.
"We'll see action soon enough," Shamem said. "Once the walls go down..."
"All we need to do is sit in the back and blast the damn dirty apes. It's the grunts who will do the fighting," retorted Otyg.
The light of the lantern flickered briefly as a gust of wind entered the tent. "Cyy? That you?" asked Shamem, turning towards the entrance.
"****!" shouted Otyg.
In the entrance of the tent was a golden being, smooth and radiant. When he saw the mages looking at him, he flicked open his jacket and grinned. Earth gems glittered in the radiant light.
"John Quincy Adams Ackbar!" shouted the Yakasha.

Otyg crawled away from the rubble of the tent. All around him he could hear shouting, crashing. Was the tide coming in? He felt himself drifing back to the ocean, towards home. Suddenly he opened his eyes. A grinning monkey stood above him, falchion upraised.

what? hosting interval is still 36 hours... as it has been?

bbz July 19th, 2012 08:49 PM

I don't think we are back to 24h. I can't tell though since I admitted my turn early. In the game settings it says 36h. Not sure what happened here? Anyone else experiencing that? Also if the stale is so bad (say you are at war and are have half of your territories taken from you due to the stale or loose a mjaor battle because of that then I might be willing to roll back the turn (but generally its a bad idea coz there can be a lot of problems with a roll back ending up with screwing up the whole game so I'm not gonna do that unless its really really bad. You can PM me and try to explain what happened to you and so that I could try and judge if haveing the rollback is worth the risk.

I'm not sure if the co-admin has changed something or if it has been a llamaserver problem. I'll look into it. In the meanwhile I extend the current turn by 48 hours so that I can get a reply from shardphoenix and give myself some thinking/acting time.

Oh also another thing, I always declare in the main thread if I were to change the hosting interval, and also I'd never change it to less time that its supposed to be(due to the plans that people have made).
