Multiplex tracking

Thanks

Re: Multiplex tracking

Normally, a ship can only fire on a single target in a round of combat. If you have 6 weapons and the first shot finishes off the target, the other 5 will be unable to fire on new targets. Multi-plex Tracking allows you to fire at multiple targets in a round, so there will be no wasted damage potential. Also, in tactical combat, you can choose to only fire some weapons on the first target and shoot other weapons at different targets.

Point-Defense Cannons are an exception though. They do not have any targetting limits, and your PDC on a ship can hit as many targets as you have PDC. This is if they fire automatically, of course. If you happen to be able to manually target them (such as you have not moved and some targets survivded PDC fire), then you will find that each PDC is treated as a normal weapon for targetting limit purposes for the manual firing.

Re: Multiplex tracking

If anyone else reads, I have another question but i do not want to be a hastle and start yet another topic, basically I was wondering when mining from a planet, do the percentages mean anything when you use mining facilities? i know when you use mining ships it counts (i think?) but when you mine from a facility is it a set amount you get, and can the planet run out?

sorry if i sound stupid, i am a noob and sorry if i repeat myself, i am very tired!

Re: Multiplex tracking

Mining from a planet doesn't reduce the resources there. Unless playing the finite setting (where resources are depleted as they are used).

Otherwise, the percentage counts on a planet just as it does in an asteroid field. The higher the percentage, the more you get.

Re: Multiplex tracking

so when it says that a extraction facility mines 800 resources of that type a turn, what does it mean, and how do i work out the real amount?

(i am playing a game right now in the background and i need resources! trying to figure out where to place the extractors!)

thanks

<font size="2" face="Verdana, Helvetica, sans-serif">It means a planet with a 100% mineral vaule will produce 800 per turn. A 150% planet will produce 1200 etc.

I believe planets can shoot ten targets, with or without Multiplex.

<font size="2" face="Verdana, Helvetica, sans-serif">I remember reading this somewhere, but have not been able to get it to work. Can someone tell me how to do it? I've tried some things like clicking a weapon in the component display, then a target, but that doesn't seem to do anything different.
