Some observations

Golem Cult raises the hit points of constructs by 40%.

The amulet of anti-magic from Dom1 seems missing from Dom2. Oversight? Or game design change?

Paralyzation (the spell and mind bLast effect) seems to penetrate MR with remarkable ease.

Anyone else find out anything interesting? Let the rest of us know. http://forum.shrapnelgames.com/images/icons/icon7.gif

The Amulet of Antimagic is still in there. It's a greater magical item that requires Astral 1 to forge.

You are right. I must be going blind in my old age. http://forum.shrapnelgames.com/images/icons/icon12.gif

So Golem Cult is 10% bonus per level of dominion.

Do note that some Construction "summons" are unable to heal! At all! IF they are also magic beings, they can heal in labs, but still... Check for the symbol of breaking bone in abilities.

Shocked, that's me.

I have to contribute a little arena death match report here.

A mindflayer (ilithid? Don't remember the exact Dom2 name) prophet (computer controlled), made it to the final, along with a Mother of Nature pretender (player).

The mindflayer bLasted the Mother of Nature, stunning her, but doing no real damage. After running out of mind bLasts (ammo: 10), it tried a few spells and then closed in to use it's weapon on the paralyzed Mother. After some time of one-way melee, the Mother decided to rout, despite having taken very little damage still. Being paralyzed however, she could not run away, and even though it each turn said that she was routing, the battle continued, with her being paralyzed while the mindflayer desperately tried to cut her down to size. After a few more turns of this, the mindflayer routs (apparently for no other reason than being frustrated at the futility of it all, or perhaps the prospect of being eventually trampled, should the Mother ever cease to be paralyzed).

In the end, the Mother was declared the winner, because the mindflayer ran off.

It was all rather amusing,.. http://forum.shrapnelgames.com/images/icons/icon7.gif

Yeah, I'm not sure routing is supposed to happen in the deathmatch...=) Probably a bug.

As for MR, it seems like a LOT of things penetrate it too easily. But especially illithids. Dang, those things can take out practically any conventional army with no losses!

I think that battles have a turn limit or something similar, when one army just routs instead of battle going on forever. I haven't been able to determine what are the factors that determine it, though (whther it's an attacker or defender who wins, how many turns have to pass, and whther it's not just turns but no damage inflicted that counts).
