Warm/cold blood?

Experimenting with C'tis Miasma Last night brought to mind one question -- should Vine Men and Vine Ogres be treated as warm-blooded (as they currently are) for the purposes of Miasma? It sounds odd to me that something consisting entirely of plants would be that way. *shrug*
(Not too many strategy games where "are my plant-men warm-blooded?" comes up, I'd suspect. Maybe a high-tech fantasy game where Rainbow Six is stalking Druid legions with infrared vision?)

One could argue that plants are affected by severe cold,or heat, for that matter, just like most living things.
So far I have no problems with the current status of vinebeings.

Id kindof like to see them labeled constructs (golems). Does anyone use the golem theme now?

Miasma could benefit from a slight expansion into what creatures (mostly summons) should be immune ot the effects of disease. Vinies would be a good start as they fit well into Miasmas magic paths.

I tried a clayman/crusher/mechanical man based Ulm once, but the bonus to construct HP just wasn't enough to justify the 50 point cost.

plant-like creatures shouldn't be affected by miasma, but are they?

<font size="2" face="sans-serif, arial, verdana">gargoyles (thinking Vanheim here) benefits also from the effect. Theorically a Gifted (of Reason) Gargoyle as a prophet with the golem cult and in gift of health should give 560 hits points. Theorically, but I dont think the occurence can really appears in MP.

I still remember fondly the game when I had a Father Illearth with 520 HP (and it was in real pbem) http://forum.shrapnelgames.com/images/icons/icon10.gif

Regarding Miasma, I suppose it depends on what sort of diseases are involved. Plant men may not be subject to malaria, but perhaps there are plant ailments. Perhaps anything with 'swamp survival' should be immune or highly resistant as well.
On diseases in general, I recall that some units -- undead in particular -- can get the disease flag while not suffering its effects. I suppose it might matter /if/ the unit is polymorphed, picks up a Lycantropos amulet, or casts Transformation if the flag is retained. On some undead, this makes a degree of sense -- a walking corpse might be inhabited by pathogens, although some won't affect it too much (but other infections would -- sarcophages) -- but perhaps ethereal units should not (?). It's all academic if the disease flag is lost on transformation, however, and the disease is non-contagious as most are except for leprosy auras and certain death items IIRC.
Golem Cult might be an interesting pick with Ulmpunk, but that mod might have #nothemes, heh.
