Great Sage no magic

Playing in a human pretender game I decided to just take great sage pretender and leave him researching. He only had 1 point in each of water & earth magic as I just dumped the 21 points I couldn't do anything with in there. Then he died.

If I bother to call him back, will he still receive the research bonus even though he no longer has any magic paths or shall I just leave him dead?

I'm sure there are side-effects to having a dead pretender, so don't keep him dead.

Hm, it might be possible. Arco Philosophers, with their research bonus, are allowed to research despite not having a single point of magic.

One bit you do lose by not having him there is that a pretender is an automatic dominion spreader.

I would think that he would still have the research bonus, as there are other no-magic researchers (GE philosopher), but I couldn't swear to it.

however, his basic dominion spread ability is probably worth bringing him back for.

2 weeks later I finally managed to get him called back (figured it wasn't worth trying too hard). Just for general information purposes in case anyone wonders in the future: no, he cannot research anymore. http://forum.shrapnelgames.com/images/icons/icon9.gif Now I have to decide if it's worth 50 gems to empower him for the research bonus, if only I had some water gems, I'd have nothing better to do with them anyway since clams are outlawed in this game http://forum.shrapnelgames.com/images/icons/icon7.gif

Ah well, a walking temple isn't that bad.

[edit] By the way, are there any items I can forge to make him a stealthy walking temple?

<font size="2" face="sans-serif, arial, verdana">Nope. He's pretty useless now. You've got a glorified walking temple.
