NLOS Questions
1 Attachment(s)
The encyclopedia description for the NLOS ATGM Team (Unit 107 of the U.S. OoB) states that the spotter for the NLOS must be able to see the target in order for the ATGM to be able to fire upon it. However, I've noticed that NLOS weapons are able to fire even when the spotter can't see the unit. I've included a save file where a U.S. UAV has spotted Russian tanks and rifle sections the turn prior. Not a single U.S. unit can see Russian units on the current turn yet the HQ unit can still direct the NLOS units to fire. In fact, the NLOS units can even attack the Russian rifle sections. Should the NLOS units be able to fire when the spotter has no line of sight and are NLOS units meant to be able to attack infantry units?

Re: NLOS Questions
The switchblade is a loitering munition (aka suicide drone) with a HEAT warhead - so Yes it can and should be able to attack anything, including infantry. The earlier, smaller system the 300 (used by unit #707 Rangers) has HE warheads. The 600 is designed to combat AFVs but you can target any ground unit.
As to whether something needs LOS to the target in order to act as a spotter; The operator has high resolution display from a camera on the drone and it is quite maneuverable so once the spotter says there is a target in the area the operator can find it and target it. I think the game works fine - you cant use the drone as a recon element but anything found by others can be targeted. |
