Devnull mod Space Monsters
I have just installed the Devnull mod and am in my first solo game at about turn 75. I have 3 questions about the Space Monsters:
1) I understand the Space Monsters have hidden home planets. Can these be found and destroyed? 2) If the home planets can't be destroyed, can the monsters be beaten into submission or surrender? 3) Can the space monsters be used with other mods or the standard game? |

1 is right, 2 is not likely, 3 is yes if you're willing to do some fun text file editing.

You can find the planets the same way you would find cloaked ships. With sensors: gravitic or hyper-optic for example. I think level 3 will do it. Prepare to fight however, I met a guardian when I did this. http://forum.shrapnelgames.com/images/icons/icon9.gif

The space monster planets cannot be found with sensors. Well, at least they shouldn't. Are you certain that you uncloaked one, Taz? I'll have to look at that again. Maybe I made a typo somewhere with the Monster Sector Cloak. But you can also 'cheat' by turning planet names ON. The planet names will be floating in seemingly empty space.
You can destroy them by blowing up their sun. Find their home system with help of the borders screen or the 'planet name crutch'. No, they won't surrender. Like Phoenix said, you have to do some editing to use them in the normal game. And also have to create new .emps for the other races. Rollo |
