Re: OT - Strategy games with GOOD AI

Since no one has mentioned it - I thought the AI was pretty good in Sid Meier's Alpha Centauri. The problem of the AI disintegrating on large maps was there, to be sure, but on small maps, the AI...

Re: Better Independents v2.1

This is the first mod I've downloaded, and it seems to work very well. I'm using the "gold" version, and the AI has been far more aggressive than before.

In the first game I played, Pythium was...

Re: Eurasia

It is true enough that connections are a bit arbitrary, and that the visual size of a provence has no impact on game mechanics. Yet turning most of North Africa into a single provence would run...

Eurasia

I'm calling it Eurasia, though it includes much of Africa. I can't really figure out what to do with all the desert - if I made it all waste, large portions of the map would be uninhabitable. I was...

Re: Brainstorm: EA/MA/LA Arabian/Islamic themed nation

Thanks for support! :) Another thing not mentioned here are Berberic Corsairs. Them I also included. On the other hand - I'm against the dervishes as troop name. I'd just name the sacred troops ghazi...

Re: OT: HBO Starts Casting Song Of Ice And Fire

This was great news for the series. HBO wouldn't have cast Bean if they didn't think they were going to pick this up.

I'm a mega-fan of the series, by the way - I've read the books countless times...

This is a redone version of my Ireland map - now incorporating the same terrain style that I used on the British Isles map. Be aware that there are only 9 land starting positions.

Re: Is there a guide or overview on how to make a map?

No - but I lost a lot of time to this problem on my last map. The Map Editor seems to have a built-in function to allow you to remove a province, but I have tried using it several times, and it has...

Re: British Isles

Oh - a couple of questions... Is it advisable to use the "many sites" indicator or not? And do you know if "fresh water" has any in-game effect?

Re: British Isles

Yes, putting in the land crossing. And yes, I left out a possible starting location in Northern scottland because it would have monopolized the only available farm-land up there. As is, players will...
