Definitely not in the scale of some on here, but I was just ambushed by the Norak during my second offensive against their home systems (the first opened the door but cost me a full 1/4 of my fleet)....

I guess it depends on how long your ships survive...the initial build up could be extremely costly (just in terms of the massive numbers of ships you would need to build to make this an effective...

I'd also like to see a little more diversity in the AI's ship designs - since we have fleet formations, it would be nice to have true fleet-type units - escorts, missile ships, fleet defense ships,...
