I've NEVER recalled Sombre having an ego of any sort. He can be snarky or harsh with his comments but don't accuse people of random **** if you can't back it up.

Thugs aren't only meant for raiding. They have other roles such as handling SC's, beating up other thugs, etc. They're often very useful just for putting out brush fires once your empire really...

Patala/BL can get away with lots of free scales cause prod/death/heat doesn't do much for them. Also you need the higher dom because you need to spread their heat dominion. Death and Blood provide...

Most of the summons are thematic anyway so it doesn't really matter. The only one that really gets boned is the Ujigami since you actually want to use that one as a thug at times.

I don't bother with the damn sign communions cause you can just use your regular mages to be better masters anyway. Using a mage prophet isn't a terrible idea though but it's so trivial around that...

I like the extra morale. Plus the nodachi does good damage from your non sacreds anyway. Also Lord of Plenty isn't bad but I like stealthy from enchantress and the splash of death. Like you...

Vanilla is easier for newbies since there's always a "go to" choice that stands out above other choices. ie. Tarts, clams, Gorgons, etc. CBM is more enjoyable for vets since those "go to" options...

The katana isn't a horrible weapon. And the armor has decent protection. The typical samurai archer deployment often sees them shooting down the morale of the group that moves in and cutting them...

Not only are they exceptionally hard to mass (even in vanilla), which is pretty critical for archers, they're also longbows in LA, where everyone has like protection ~17 on their front...

Am I the only one who thinks MA Mictlan cannot possibly be mediocre late game with flying recruitable astral mages who are also sacred and blessable? Also eagle warriors do rock.

You don't need signs. The astral mages are vastly superior in battle. You can tamper with signs if you're desperate. I was working on a Jomon guide somewhere along the line ... but my belief is...
