Re: M1931 (B-4/M) 203 mm howitzer

This blog - http://jacqueline-devereaux.blogspot.com/2009_01_01_archive.html - lists B-4M in service as of 2008. However, looking at the total number of weapons, it is clear, it speaks about...

Re: M1931 (B-4/M) 203 mm howitzer

As far as I know, they were operational in the 80s. Despite their age they were able to fire nuclear projectiles, had new wheeled chassis (fitted in middle fifties) and the numbers of newer 2S7...

Re: New Russian OOB (or SPR OOB)

It very much depends on what you define as aim range, which is not specified there and therefore does not interest me.

BTW I see, the edition is from 1965... I wonder if it is possible, that...

Re: New Russian OOB (or SPR OOB)

Hi Don,

I have just stumbled upon the book, dedicated to rocket assisted grenades in Russian army. As it is in Russian, I will just summarize info about RPG-1 and RPG-2 found there. BTW it is free...

Re: Russian weapons v4

Hi,

may be I can help with some info on SU-122.

Bronetankovaya tekhnika SSSR 1939-45, page 22: "Self-propelled gun SU-122. Self-propelled gun for infantry support. Based on chassi of medium...

Re: Ideas how to improve WinSP MBT/WW2 !

I just tried it, and it is entirely possible to shoot smoke rounds through the smoke using X key. I don't see, where you experience problem. The ONLY problem I can see, is that when you use Z key for...

Re: Leopard 2 and Thermal Imager

Good news, thank you. I will edit my german oob till the next patch.

BTW, the same thermal imager as in 2A1 is used in 1A5, so you may want to modify its vision rating to 40 as well. The name of...

Leopard 2 and Thermal Imager

I noticed, that Leopard 2 has vision 20, 2a1 vision 30 and 2a4 vision 40. However all sources I have are stating, that version Leo 2 (aka Leo 2a0, these were just first 200 tanks of Leopard 2 series)...

Hit location

Hi All,

just out of curiosity - how the hit location on vehicles is determined? I have figured out by testing, that hull is hit twice as often than turret. With the obvious exception of hull-down...

Re: Rough Speeds.

Have you ever thought about how is the cross country speed measured? If not, think now! It's absurd to mix data from different sources as your web (cited by you) does. Or do you think that the test...

Re: Realism vs \"Winning\"

You must take into account, that the front battle formations (which you play) are given ALL of the supporting artillery of the division. Thus if division attacks with say 4 battalions ahead, and you...

Re: Realism vs \"Winning\"

I am rarely using top equipment. It is so satisfying to see the old scrap win because of tactics, even more if you have inferior troops regarding experience. That's the game about, after all, about...

Re: Tactics and Correct use of Scouts ?

Scouting during assault is difficult, since you are moving and enemy is dug-in. Given the same experience level, enemy WILL spot you first, at least with his size 0 units (MG nests, panzershreck...

Re: The Ukranian BMT-72 - Insanity.

They weren't, it's kind of urban legend. Soviet construction schools, whether on tanks, aircraft or submarines (e.g.) were always concerned about the crew in a normal way, AFAIK there is no proof to...

Re: LOS and spotting

Dug-in status is for troops in well prepared positions, and accordingly it is more difficult to spot (not covered in my example). I fear I don't have much experience with such positions, as most of...

Re: Question: Your force?

I don't playmany post-2000 battles, but my force structure in those I play would be with such points - one btr company, two 3 tank platoons (like t-72BM1 - so the cheap vision 30 types) and artillery...

Re: BM-22 Uragan reloading

Well, I tried to adjust number of rockets to 8+8 and rof to 8, and simultaneously I changed weapon size to 5 (as has the 240 mm rocket). Reloading is still fast, but Uragan causes about 50 percent...

Re: BM-22 Uragan reloading

Thank you for quick reply. I expected that adjusting a warhead size would cause a "big-bang" and therefore a solution might not be at hand. Just wanted to mention the bug for sure, one never knows...
