This point is very important, and it's easy to miss. Dominion spread in a province that already has max dominion will "flow" out to other provinces.

Think of provinces as an ice cube tray...

It depends on the nation. Some nations have more heroes, and some nations have less.

For example, I think that LA Atlantis only has one hero.

I agree with rdonj. Dismounted knights would be possible, certainly -- but not practical. In addition to the Fatigue Factor, there's also the point that lance charges are a big part of why knights...
