Re: Vehicles & Trees
I could do that, but I'm satisfied with the information provided by Andy above. I just haven't noticed the changes yet.

Re: Vehicles & Trees
Ah, haven't actually played enough since the last couple of patches to notice it. That is indeed a good addition to the game.
Yeah, it has *perhaps* happended a few times to me as well :o

Vehicles & Trees
I'm posting this here even though it also applies to winSPMBT. Something hit me the other day; I cannot recall even one instance of a vehicle bogging down while moving through woods (i.e. "trees"...

Re: Effectiveness of TI (thermal imaging)
OK. I just thought that ground such as sand having been heated during the day should be warmer than a human. I mean, you can more or less burn your feet on sand.

Re: Effectiveness of TI (thermal imaging)
I just thought about something. I don't know if you know this but; how does hot terrain interact with TI ? E.g. hot desert sand or heated asphalt. And I also don't know what generation of TI you have...

Yup, that's how I treat it. I let the enginners clear some nice lines of fire for me ;)

Re: Hand grenades
Your guess is as good as any. I do know that the Norwegian armed foreces suffered a lot from cutbacks made after the first WW, so that might have something to do with it. They also lacked AT-guns,...

Re: Swiss Blue
Just want to put this out there. I have an original copy (printed in 1939) of the Taschenbuch der Heere - 1939 (something like: "Handbook/Pocketbook of Armies") written by Kurt Passow.
It...

Re: Hand grenades
As an interesting side-note: the Norwegian army did not have any hand grenades during the war. But I guess you could treat them (being in game) as improvised grenades, or perhaps even British/French...

Soviet/Russian BMP-2 discrepancies
Don't know if this was deliberate or not, but I was looking through the data of the different BMP-2 versions when I found something that seems a bit odd. All the BMP-2 versions have a Crew of 2, even...

Avenues of Approach
Not being able to remember anything specific from my own experiences; but do enemy (read AI) troops use covered avenues of approach (such as moving through woods instead of roads, etc.) ? It seems as...

Turkish OOB
The standard rifle in WinSPMBT for the Turkish OOB is the "GT36", but it seems that the real world weapon of choice is the H&K G3. I cannot find any information that the Turkish army ever has used...

Alright, I'll have to do some more digging around. See if I can find any manuals for the M2/M3 pre-dating 1944.

Roger that. You wouldn't happen to know the designation of the 105mm AP shot ? I can't seem to find it.

105mm M2 Sabot
Found another oddity while rummaging around in the encylopedia.
The US 105mm M2 howitzer (availability March 1940 - April 1942) and the 105mm M3 howitzer (availability March 1940 - June 1942)...

Sherman IIA Survivability

Ah OK. I was just wondering, since most fortifications seems to have a higher thickness on the "turret".

Fortification hit locations
Just out of pure curiosity: what does the "turret" armor of a fortification (bunker, casemate, etc.) actually represent ? I.e. what part of a fortification is the "hull" and the "turret" ?

Re: Dealing with the Infantry Peril
Another thing; the Type 89 Yi-Go has AP ammo but against the FT-17's and the Crossley A/C's I've encountered it only fires HE. I had to go up really close to be able to take the Crossley's out. Any...

You have plenty of good points and advice. Going with only 2 Infantry companies is a preference; I don't usually like to play with larger forces than that. I usually play with just a company and an...

Now I'm...
