Windows 7 does annoying things with the save folder. The trick is install dominions to c:\dominions and NOT to the program files directory. Because Win7 locks that one.

Personally, I prefer PBEM for large games that take a long time. It's especially helpful if you have iffy internet connections. Direct connect has one trouble. If your internet goes down you can't...

Yes. Sombre does not want to come back. And he in no way influenced my efforts on his behalf. I did it entirely on my own based upon what I believe is good for Dominions 3 and playing this great...

You can also join the newbie only games with coaches offering support. Those games start in a day, have 4-6 players, and have a coach along for the ride. They end in a month or two. Great learning...
