I'm basically having the same problem with an XP, P4 machine running at 1.8 GHZ and a TNT 64 video card.
My laptop runs at 1 GHZ, uses a GeForce 2 and the ships zip around as if they're on...

I'd like to see the ability to 'Remote Launch" using Waypoints instead of having to scroll to planet, warp point, etc.
I'd also like more than 10 way points.

How far is far?
How many systems away from center do you use as the main or kernel part of your empire?
Given that it takes a certain amount of time to move ships, etc from place to place.
