Re: Trade Federation Role Play for Neutral non AI Player

I originally thought of the TF as an ancient race or as a multi-national trade conglomerate. So I had the game starting with the TF already spread out over the galaxy, one planet per system, with...

Re: Trade Federation Role Play for Neutral non AI Player

Geoschmo,
I'm glad you "missed the point" with your earlier Posts. It allowed you to come up with some more good ideas. I never thought of giving the TF all of the racial traits. (So, they are...

Re: Manual Treaty Grid and Mood updates

Yeah, it is annoying that you can't downgrade a treaty (or have multiple treaties in effect). It is all or nothing; keep it or cancel it. So you can't go from military alliance to trade alliance. ...

Re: Trade Federation Role Play for Neutral non AI Player

I think only the "storage charge per turn" would lead to spreadsheet. You could make it instead a one-time charge per storage transaction. Then you just have to add and subtract from player and TF...

Re: Trade Federation Role Play for Neutral non AI Player

Lots of good ideas. Would allow very quick exploration of galaxy if you could pay the TF to allow your ship to refuel at TF planet/base. Maybe you would have to "gift" it to TF (along with...

Re: Who\'s Gonna Win the World Cup?!

So, now the US has 4 points, and is favored to win its group. Incredible!
BTW, there is more interest in soccer in US than outsiders might think. But the truth is, we are very self-absorbed. ...

Re: Othaglot and Cane - Story Thread

Good story, but so far Othaglot is coming off as inferior to Cane, which is probably not what you'd intended.

Re: Malfador, how about the ability to rename a system

It could be done. The game would have to keep track of everyone's names for every system, instead of just one name.

BTW, this brings up a question: if you offer a planet in trade, then change the...

Re: SEIV or Marital Divorce!

One of my wives nagged me once, so I had her publicly whipped. End of problem. It is such fun being a male Al-Quaeda!

Re: Mod question: Possible to create research/intell component on ship?

He is being funny. He means pirates and nomads don't do research themselves. Instead, they steal (extract) it from captured (liberated) ships.

I like all those ideas. Some comments to sharpen our focus:

BaronM:
Money would be cool, but even with money you still wouldn't have a galaxy-wide Trade...

Re: An extremely silly question, buut...

Maybe TF also starts with a huge planet (or base or ringworld or sphereworld, depending on the galaxy size) which is actually an intergalactic colonizer and they need to fill it with organics and...

Re: An extremely silly question, buut...

I think that most of these Trade Federation ideas could be done in a no-AI game if it were set up correctly beforehand. One player plays the TF, whose role is to capture disabled ships, analyze...

Re: Blah blah blah

I like the QR. Keep in mind that it is horribly expensive to research. However, I'd be happy to see multiple levels of QR. The current QR would become QR5. Levels before that would be called QR1...
