Yes, missiles never miss and fighters have large aditional attack and defense bonuses but they are very vulnerable to point defense cannons, often getting destroyed before they can hit even once.

What I meant is that I consider the disbalance to be a bug.
If you can't get another colonization tech by trade or analizing captured ships you will be in disadvantage. Rock and Gas natives can also...

In SE4 you don't have and don't need death stars to destroy planets.
You have small DS or LC that may approach the planet with a treaty, cloaking or by winning a battle.
