I think, fading magic comes with drain, not with misfortune. :)

Nagas are cold-blooded, and Cold-3 is a common scale choice for design points, so don`t expect them to be of any use in actual war (well, except for Abyssia or Mictlan - they have heat preference).

I think, the only event that unlocks with Misfortune-3 is "A huge barbarian horde has unexpectedly attacked and pillaged our province.". But you get many more other bad events - random assasins,...

This spell is negated by MR. Either recast it several times or bring PEN items.

You need to use archer decoys for elephants.
Make your commander as far back as possible and command your decoy...

I think, I see a problem here..
Anyway, you need at least a vine shield when going against a big group of enemies. And some kind of regeneration.

Marverni are good at making GIANT FLAMING METEORS OF DEATH fall onto enemy heads. And you need to understand how astral magic (particulary communions) works. There are some guides...

Dead pretenders don`t have use for gems, anyway. And it`s awful efficient to forge firebrands with Master Smiths when Forge is up. :)
