I am using Atrocities ship set now (my original set came from the "House of Style" which I think was supplied by Warp Nine)...

The v130g patch seems to have fixed the weapon selection...

Weapons selection and the AI_DesignCreation file

Just wondering whether anyone out there can tell me how to ensure that the AI uses the "best" weapon available.
My observations so far are that the AI equips it ships with the first majority weapon...

Thanks for the feedback. I generally find on high diff/low bonus that the Klingons and Romulans generally are in the top 5 (unless they get mugged early or trapped in a corner).

Looks like I did work out what you are getting at. V130h2 includes EMP files with standard ship names.

Q, I've made a non-point defence Version that utilises standard files (ie Filler techs are gone) and posted it in the mods archive section.
I can't guarantee how well they play without the Filler...

Might be worth waiting until I upload v130h later this week though. I have extensively changed the researching of middle and late techs to make the Klingons...

Thanks for the report. What you observed was something that tended to happen with my earlier Versions.
The problem was two fold;
1) If the races ended up in galaxies with lots of mining...

I play on hard level with medium bonus and find them very tough, but, am interested what weaknesses people may have...

I reiterate my main point - PBEM does not allow tactical battles. Whats the point of spending time researching and designing spiffy ships when you are forced to press the Strategic resolution button...

I suspect that the simplest option would be to just reduce the length of a combat round to say 20 turns. Sides that want to run can do so immediately from the start and if they are not at a speed...
