Out of curiousity, what OS do you run IF? I prefer win2k personally. Although, as you say, win98 is still certainly a viable OS(especially if you strip it down to around 30-50 megs or so lol)

'Recovery' cd's are evil, they generally don't recover anything, they 'restore' your system to 'like-new' condition (ie. they reformat your HD and re-install the OS, and to hell with whatever else...

I was thinking that myself. It'd be easy enough to test for, run the comp with the side off (in a reasonably cool room), if it still locks, it's likely to be a power supply issue.

It's probably heat, especially if it's only happeneing during graphics intensive games. If you have a slot, right beside the vid card, free, I'd suggest a slot fan.

Also, unless you make the built-in shields phased, any ship made with that hull will have problems. Did you take a look at the example hulls and small mount I posted? I realised that with small ships...

As far as the crop used goes, I would recommend hemp. It grows well, even on marginal land, and can be planted/harvested 3 times per year.

It's also somewhat more realistic to have fleets that aren't all composed of your largest hull, in my opinion at least.
