Re: T-54/55 versions

OK, thanks for the update, I thought at least part of the T-55As were modernized from stock T-55s.
Anyway, it boils down to the only difference between M and AM being, in game terms, the BMG.
I...

Re: T-54/55 versions

As well, what would be the actual difference between tanks of the T-55M and T-55AM series? If we assume both modernizations were carried out at the same time, on modernized T-55As and plain T-55s,...

Re: obat53 aircrafts

Pats,

I have no idea how the Swiss air force works, but don't they have some kind of stocks of basic air-to-ground weaponry that could be brought up in case of extended conflict? Like dumb bombs...

Re: ORBAT questions please help

Attached in the "Attachment" link at the top of the post, under the title, and apparently some T-64s are still considered "in service" in a few FSU republics, e.g. Russia, Ukraine and Moldova (at...

Re: ORBAT questions please help

Good point DD, the best way would probably be to use Red on both sides (even the names would nearly match), and use captured Russian units if you want up to date equipment (T-64s, modern arty...).

Re: M-249/Minimi SAW question

Wait wait wait, it looks like at least the UK, France and Netherlands use not the standard Minimi but the shorter Para version (349mm-long barrel instead of 465mm, from world.guns.ru...

OOB 28 Netherlands

Just to help correct a tiny leftover from the patch:

In OOB 28, unit 321 "Bv 202"
Weapon in slot #1 is weapon 34 "PzF 3 IT-600 DC", with 90 HE ammo.

Given that in the previous version, weapon...

Re: Help me with flag thing...

So you installed the Cold War mod over the v2.51 and then upgraded the game right over it?
Or have you uninstalled the mod before installing the V3, using the CWM_RC0.1_restoredefaults.exe file?...

Re: WinSPMBT Multi-player User Campaigns?

Right, 250 square meters would be one hex, else it is a 250 meter-wide square...
Anyway a one-hex oil rig, may be even easier to simulate, e.g. with a large industrial-type building. Since you...

Re: Warsaw Pact and TI

I don't want to spoil anyone's day, but a FLIR could also be a passive or active EOIR sensor in the short wavelength band, i.e. not the everyday thermal radiation domain. Granted, short-wavelength...

Re: WinSPMBT Multi-player User Campaigns?

From what I understand of the WW2 campaign, any modern version would call for large spaces, so preferably large countries, right?
I mean, if you're rolling a probability of encounter based on an...

Re: WinSPMBTver3.0 Info

Pardon for being a nitpick, but what about the BRMs? AFAIK even the early BRM-1K mounts a Tall Mike (PSNR-5) GSR, and that one dates back to 1976.
Right now all the pre-1990 BRMs in the Russian OOB...

Re: Cold War 2020 mod: first release!

Frankly, I think not.
You see, the lists are mostly made up of formation numbers (plus pick probabilities and prices, of course), and I fear equivalent formations in the OBFs of say, USA and...

Re: Cold War 2020 mod: first release!

Re: Warsaw Pact and TI

Going out on a limb here, I'd say that some of the most recent Russian tanks (T-64B, T-72B, T-80, T-90) could be entitled a vision rating around 30. Same for some of the latest non-TI night sights...

Re: Warsaw Pact and TI

Don, I don't know if you've checked this one yet, but it looks like the MTLB-based Shturm (AT6) SPATGM is also credited with 40 vision in the current Russian OBF.
I haven't found consistent info...
