Re: Hezbollah OOB ?

The IA does at least fire HE missiles at infantryin reaction turns (for player-controlled units). I've tested that to give FAE warheads to modern Russian missiles (Kornet, Krisantema, Vikhr...)....

Re: Korean War II - from N.K. PoV. Anybody interes

I've been hearing loosely about that for some years, yes, but I didn't know it was an actual "conspiracy theory" in the public mind.
Now given the credibility of a full-fledged conventional war...

Re: Question:small arms for on map artillery

I don't know if this bug affects the direct-fire classes (e.g. gun as opposed to howitzer). I guess that calls for some testing, doesn't it? http://forum.shrapnelgames.com/images/smilies/wink.gif...

Re: Korean War II - from N.K. PoV. Anybody interes

Maybe you won't have to bother with it, if you can use 'captured' Russian weaponry all through a campaign. That would give you units from the Russian OOB under the NK flag and leadership (and morale...

Re: Israel Invades Lebanon - Current Campaign

That should be replicable using ATGMs with HE ammo, probably with a decent (Sagger-type) penetration.

To be used carefully in scenarios though, since I have no idea how HE missiles will react...

Re: Merkava 4

Apparently the Israeli tankers were quite pleased with the AMX-13 (except for terribly weak armour), and the design was largely used as a testbed for various components of the Merkava, back in the...

Re: Question:small arms for on map artillery

Regarding artillerymen's self defence, here is a note from the DOS version's Player Info.txt files:

I don't know if the bug still exists in the WinSPMBT version as well, but I thought you...

Re: Can you \"add\" a new nation?

More to the initial point, no nation can be added to the list, so yes, if you want to create another nation, you will have to sacrifice an existing one.
One thing cannot be changed though, that's...

Re: Can you \"add\" a new nation?

In theory, Belarus is what you'll get by using the "red" OOB against Poland or Ukraine. The names should fit more or less, and after 1990-91 the equipment will be broadly coherent (maybe add some...

Re: Help with airlifting troops and vehicles

At which level does the problem occur?

Can you load at some of the units but not all?
If so, the load capacity of the helos may have been changed. that would hint at some kind of tampering with...

Re: Israel Invades Lebanon - Current Campaign

Depending on the "contingency level" of your campaign (i.e. size and mechanization of the forces), you may want to switch these allied forces to captured items, if that's possible at all.

That...

Re: Heavy APCs armour ratings in WinSPMBT

Without any intellectual work or quotable sources on my side, I'm just reminding that these APCs you mention are based on MBT hulls indeed, but not exactly current ones. I.e. the BTR-T and the...

Re: Air Parity ?

Straffing airplanes giving a heatseeker pot-shot at onboard helos sounds interesting, DD, but I wonder if any pilot with half a working brain would dare try this while on a bombardment run......

Re: Stand-off cluster \"bombs\"?

I have also given the odd try at "smart" weapons, considering that cluster bombs could have more potential for it than FO-directed arty.

The main point was, of course, raising the weapon accuracy...

Re: Stand-off cluster \"bombs\"?

I tried that once (with cluster class weapons), but as far as I can recall the aircrafts always dumped them from zero range, even with a clear view on target and huge FC/vision ratings.

That kind...

Re: Interesting Note on Canadian Future Armor.

What about the M777 on a LAV-III body?

I think BAe was considering something like that some years ago. I don't know how far it went, but there are chances that they dumped the marketing on that...

Re: Interesting Note on Canadian Future Armor.

So you cannot have at the same time an air-transportable and notably-armored track on the ground, right?

I know it would just take, what, 30 minutes with the crew and a 2-ton field crane to get...

Re: Interesting Note on Canadian Future Armor.

The point is that the LAV-III MGS is much more transportable and mobile than the old Leos.
OK, that's strategic mobility we are talking about here. Surely a full-fledged tank will behave better on...

Re: Black Eagle\'s main gun

Infos available are still hazy about the next generation of Russian main guns, but it looks more and more likely that the 152mm option would be retained rather than the 135mm, should anything new be...

Re: Home made realy Weapons

Apparently, heavy armor or not, it can be quite easy to disable a tank or any heavy AFV while it is on a peacekeeping mission.
This is an important point because all the steps you can take as a...

Re: New Iraqi equipment

Besides, the Iraqi veterans, official or not, are much more used to Soviet-style weapons and systems since they have been mainly running on these for more than rwenty years at least.
And it seems...
