Dogfighting is a form of aerial combat. The F-4 Phantom lack of guns in Vietnam killed that experiment and the Navy went back to Top Gun school. Dogfighting has no place in our game anyway.

In the game guide, Pyros has an excellent, if not definitive study of waypoints and movement costs over various terrain and vehicle types. You can find his work under advanced waypoints.

Not sure if you'd gain any real advantage over an engineer squad, possibly so. I'd start with using the engineer tanks and the MRAP class vehicles as guides in your development.
