How much do devils reduce your dominion?

I have never gone for blood magic because someone said devils reduce your dominion. How does this exactly work? How much of a reduction are we talking about?

I tend to build a ton of Jotun Herse and use them really as melee troops (they are only marginally more expensive than Hirdman or Huskarl, have better stats, and are equippable). So I always end up...

What role does a shield play?

I realize that they block projectile weapons. But in a melee fight, do they confer additional benefits that you wouldn't have without them?

I am trying to edit maps. So I want to know the names of all the items not listed in the book, as well as all the magical places. I thought there would be a file within DOM 2 that would list those...

Does wishing for non-standard artifact work properly?

I followed the instructions on http://www.freewebz.com/sunraybe/wish.html and wished for Hammer of the Cyclops. But it didn't work. I tried it for Solaris' equipment as well but no luck there either....

I once had a Pretender who had level 9 in everything (empowerment, baby!) and as high as level 17 or something in death magic. Would magic levels that go up this high add any benefits? You can cast...
