Re: Niefel Jarl enslaved transformed in Great Eagle ?

It's kind of flaky (as is so much in this game :) ).

When you GoR the eagle, you get a commander Great Eagle that, quite logically, has no magic. The flaky part is that it is still an "Abductor"...

Re: Pointy Sticks MA started

He probably means that he got a lucky new recruit in the 1st version of the turn with a 10% pick, but did not get lucky in the new version of reality. Similarly, I lost a golem in a battle that was...

Re: Pointy Sticks MA started

He didn't (Caelum has not staled all game). New turn is up.

The rollback cost me one golem, but cost you one Iron Angel.

Re: Pointy Sticks MA started

Not sure what has become of Gurthang. I have postponed hosting again, until Monday night.

Re: Pointy Sticks MA started

When I reset the timer to 75 hrs, it reset the deadline to Thursday night(the extra 3 hours will hopefully help keep the hosting time from creeping forward too much - we'll see).

Let me know when...

Re: Pointy Sticks MA started

That should probably be up to Mightypeon, as he is the person who needed the rollback.

Re: Pointy Sticks MA started

No problem.

Correction: one problem - I will need the admin password.

Re: Pointy Sticks MA started

I can take over as admin, if you want. We will need to know what kind of hosting schedule you think you can maintain. And you will probably need to give me at least 12 hours notice when you need a...

Re: Pointy Sticks MA started

A bit more communication would help here.

If you (Mightypeon) are particularly busy with real-life concerns for awhile, let us know and we'll be quite understanding. But if you are just growing...

Re: Pointy Sticks MA started

I am OK with a 1-turn rollback. I think every remaining major power ought to be able to veto the rollback, so you should pm Gurthang to make sure he sees this.

Re: Pointy Sticks MA started

I'm not quite sure if you are asking for a 1-turn or 2-turn rollback.

I could probably support a 1-turn rollback - but not 2 turns. Not only would that be playing with fire (I'm guessing there...

Re: Pointy Sticks MA started

Are you saying that you sent in turns, but the server ignored them? Did you get the "turn received" emails? If so, that's a pretty serious problem. The game's status page never showed you as having...

Re: Pointy Sticks MA started

Ulm staled the past two turns, missing all of the critical initial clashes of the war. Not a very good sign. Is the game done?

Re: MP etiquette for war...

You are always at war with everybody, unless you have negotiated a specific peace treaty with someone. The terms of that treaty should determine what kind of notice either party needs to give in...

Re: Pointy Sticks MA started

I have PMed our benevolent admin for a 48-hour extension due to work. Hopefully I won't need the whole time, will get my turn in as soon as I can.

In general, I am now ready for the game to move...

Re: Ulm: Order of the Black Rose v0.301b

Something I just noticed in the Pointy Sticks game, that probably is not working correctly:

Mightypeon has a Knight of the Black Rose (Amalarik - if you want to check and see if you see the same...

Re: Ulm: Order of the Black Rose v0.301b

You are awfully quick to declare defeat, considering that the war just started and no real battles have been fought yet. Let's see what happens when a Shin army meets up against an Ulm army full of...

Re: Threadspotting: troop positioning and tactics

True, but before you use the "have a squad in front set to guard a commander in the rear" trick in an MP game, you might want to ask the other players if they are OK with it.

Ouch.

From what I can see of the world, it didn't cost you much. Things seem pretty quiet.

Re: phenix pyre

Lucky tartarians.
Ether Lords (more a high-end thug, but anything with Soul Drain can act an awful lot like an SC).

Anything else?

Re: phenix pyre

You are thinking of soul vortex. Soul drain is quite another beast - a battlefield-wide enchantment. It also requires an uncommon path combination (3S3D).

Re: Bug with phenix pyre ?

Not a bug - working as designed. The Phoenix Pyre blast is an explosion, not a fire. It does physical damage.

You might be able to take solace from the fact that you are hardly the first person...

Re: Pointy Sticks MA started

Glad you're feeling better. Don't worry about the sub business - we all knew it was not a very strong attractive spot anyway.
