abandoned tanks

A couple of times I've run across abandoned tanks and my own tanks were unable to target and destroy them despite being right next to them. Is this meant to be this way? I'd prefer to be able to...

I had an infantry squad riding in a tank- it was fired on by rifle and machine guns- the tank wasn't damaged but it destroyed the squad in the tank- how is this possible? I've also seen this before....

I've noticed a wide variance in the way the AI fights- I've seen aggressive and tough to beat and also incredibly weak, poor judgement. Is there any reason for this? It doesn't seem to depend on...

Maybe I'm doing something wrong but I noticed that if I want artillery to switch from HE rounds to smoke I have to call in a new fire mission and have to wait 2 or 3 turns. You would think it could...

Thanks for your replies- It was an IL-2 bomber called in by AO- The bombardment screen read 7.0- not 7 turns-

Was playing Russia vs Italy, 1943. When I tried to call in airstrikes from the ILs it took 7 turns. Why is that? Seems like a long time to wait. Thanks

Thanks for your answers. The mortar did eventually show up on the bombardment screen but I'm not sure what I did to change that. I think it was out of contact with the AO or the Hq unit its from. ...
