Re: campaign: auto-buy

I agree that most people probably want to pick their forces by themselves. On the other hand, it just would add some more realism to the game.

campaign: auto-buy

just a small proposal: add the possibility to auto-purchase units in a generated campaign - similar to the option, which is available during generating of battles.

So the player has to cope with...

Re: Filter options for SAMs

It's slightly off-topic but would it be possible to consider that AI can use spotter planes, too? So, for example if the AI assaults ,it checks (planned) approach route etc.?

Re: River crossing battle tactics

I think the AI is in general quite good/ok if you consider the variety of situations it has to cope with.

Any chance that we see improvements in some areas (like the mentioned 'static' defense')...

Re: Wide screen BETA test - for CD owners only

desktop resolution does not work for me (both: windowed/full screen)...see attached screenshot.

The winspmbt screen occupies ~50% of the screen and you can hardly read anything.

Has anybody an...

Re: 5.0 patch for winSPMBT

At first, thanks for the upcoming patch!

Especially, this feature sounds very good! Any chance that those explosives are automatically placed/ handled by AI in generated battles/campaigns (eg....

Re: New Generation

Uh, than there seems at least the possibilty that there might be a new version in the far future :) (That does not mean that I am unhappy with the current one).

I've always thought about if there...

Re: small usability improvement (generating battles)

Yes, I understand. That's the issues with User Interface: everybody works a little different and making everything configurable is effort.

Re: small usability improvement (generating battles)

No, I do not mean the preferences but the general settings (country, type of engagement etc.). The preference are stored, yes.

That the visibility changes I think is ok...it's just for...

small usability improvement (generating battles)

A small usability poposal: If you create a battle, quit the battle (to alter settings etc.), you have to set the parameters (time, country, etc.) again.

If it's not too much coding effort: Perhaps...

Re: Fog of war

I know that Don and Andy will not rewrite the code due to the wish of one person.

I agree that the impact of such a feature would not be a dramatic change to the gameplay; in a real time sim like...

Fog of war

I do not know if this was already discussed:

I'd like to see the 'Fog of war' enhanced in that way that (enemy) units are not completely known when you detect them for the first time. What I mean...

Re: Idea for a moddable AI

Thanks Don, sure, I've expected this answer, was just a tryout :-).

So, that means, that there will be only small changes in the future (only bug fixing, but no major features)?

Idea for a moddable AI

Hi,

since some guys complain about occasional 'stupid' AI behavior I have a question to Andy&Don.

Would it be much effort to develop some kind of AI interface into the existing code? I do not...

just curious about the next version

Hi,

is there already a plan what content the next update might have?
(AI improvements or whatever?)

Thanks for maintaining this great game!

Re: Wego ?

Yes, but I do not like it...Steel Panthers is much better in my opinion (random maps, very huge scope, generic AI etc.)...WEGO is perhaps an option for the next engine :)

Wego ?

Hi,

let me say first that I enjoy WinSPMBT very much, so the following is just a suggestion:

What do you think about introducing WEGO (simultaneous turn-based engine) as an alternative mode?...

Re: What Changes in the CD Version

Did you consider to provide the enhanced version as a download version in the future? (no custom issues etc.)

Anyway, thanks for that great game!

German Tornado ECR

Hi,

the 'SEAD' Aircraft entry for Germany(obat44/490) is not correct. They carry AGM-88 HARMS, instead of Alarms.

Hi,

first let me thank you for keeping up this great game!

Although I think, the AI is not too bad, do you plan to enhance it ?

One proposal would be for example, that the AI scans the map...
