Is there any purpose to having more than 1 resource converter? I can understand you might lose a planet to an invasion, but otherwise? Does an RC have a conVersion limit per turn?

The ships I have seen are actually on the non-BH side of the WP. They just stay there. I guess they overextended their supply and and their engines are too damaged. They have no movement left!

By the time I usually encounter the AI, they never seem use any size below Cruiser. They also use a whole lot of Carriers. Is there any way I can force them to use smaller ships?

If you are going to place satellites at a warp point, have a combo of engine damagers, wep damagers, and PD weps. They will get through with enough ships, BUT they will be "softened up!"
