Re: Useless or redundant units?

Oh really? Well actually it's a huge factor if you want to go single bless. While double bless is a rusher's dream, you can't play that with every nation since they don't have usable sacreds.

Re: Useless or redundant units?

I would just have to say that Water bless is good on most cavalry, it is by far the best universal bless because not only does it give +4 Def/Quickness but your pretender recieves +1 Def for each...

Re: Useless or redundant units?

As far as Awe is concerned. Awe makes a unit do a morale check in order to even attack the unit with Awe. I'm not sure if the Awe modifier just adds to your side of the OE roll, but I'm pretty sure...

Re: Conceptual Balance (Discussion)

The main difference between Luck and Order from Dom2 to Dom3, is that gold across the board was raised, and Order as a base % modifier was raised at the same rate as the general gold per population....

Re: Conceptual Balance (Discussion)

No need to fear that. Don't stop unless you want to.

This is true to a very large extent. However, you have to also consider the path of the spells. 2Fire for Pillar of Fire makes all...

Re: Conceptual Balance (Discussion)

Well, it may have been you didn't ever use the CB mod for Dom2, but it's intention was never to create the same playing style for all nations, but rather allow more choices for each and every...

Re: Conceptual Balance (Discussion)

This is something I will be doing as well. There are a number of commanders with wierd slot problems. They are easy enough to fix.

Re: Conceptual Balance (Discussion)

Waiting on the first patch to see if this is done for me. If not it will have to be moved on the research tree and cost evaluated.

Yes, you can. Which is a big part of nation balance. The...

Re: Conceptual Balance (Discussion)

This is the perfect way to go with ideas. I would ask everyone to be cordial, even if you disagree with a change or discussion. Obviously I would prefer that you also have a reason, just like the...

Conceptual Balance (Discussion)

Hello old and new friends alike!

I'm sure you were either fearing or wanting this to happen, but I am taking it once more upon myself to put together the Dominions 3 Conceptual Balance mod. I...

Re: Guide to playing Patala competitively

Like I said, personal preference. If it's 2 for 1 and my 2 are stealthy. It might be that I prepare my army for people as I take indies for the most part. I have too often had to switch fighting...

Re: Guide to playing Patala competitively

I like to mash them with across the front line. Since the targeting AI has fits with more target squads. They don't get enough time to rout anyway, so they are good for confusion and the right...

Re: Balance on small maps

I would say:

Bless strategies *should* work. But perhaps not as well as they do right now. Also there is no effective 10 turn counter to the initial bless rushes, whereas this doesn't...

Re: Email notification programs

What he is looking for is something that will automatically send Emails after a turn is processed that you can use from a command line.

I remember Bruce had one he made with Perl, but I haven't...

Re: Bug thread

Reproducable:

Seduction is slightly off.

If you Seduce in the same turn that you have an army fighting in, the results of that battle (win or loss) dictate whether or not you will seduce (I...

Re: Note from Illwinter

Hmm. Well I guess I had better buy the game if I'm in the credits, also it seems you have a new crop of determined balance monkeys coming out of the woodwork. Someone should tell QM to get out here...

Re: Favorite nations so far?

Everyone has their own opinion on balance in games such as these. However, it would be safe to say you should probably see the full game and the full length and breadth of what the game offers. It...

Re: Favorite nations so far?

Most overpowered nations have a critical weakness or inherent flaw so that no matter how 'overpowered' a nation can be defeated with the application of solid strategy.

Even under the nature of...

I don't actually own Dom3, so I guess no. I just wanted to give Kris and Johan a pat on the back for their exhaustive effort and results.

The changes in CB were made with a guideline and QM has followed that guideline in his further progression. That guideline is to make every option availiable and usable.

Unfortunately...
