Re: Which vehicles lead a Cav push?

I have a feeling that lightly armoured vehicles are too vulnerable and easy to spot in the game.

Re: Scenario play and preferences

I mostly play Long campaigns with random battles. Sometimes 2 player pick your own force battles. I rarely play scenarios.

Jagdpanzer IV/48 does not turn when firing

The Jagdpanzer IV/48 does not seem to change facing when firing as other tank destroyers do.

Re: Mud on hills

Just to explain, I was talking about the probabilities in the automatic map generator, not about doing away any capability in the game.

And I was not complaining, I was offering feedback as...

Re: Mud on hills

The effect in the game of mud is to make vehicles get stuck. I have experience as a tank commander, and I my experience, you are a lot more likely to get stuck in mud in low lying terrain than on...

Re: Feeble sound from MG42 in infanterie squad with Mkb 42(H)

Not the most important detail, but still. Thanks!

Feeble sound from MG42 in infanterie squad with Mkb 42(H)

The German infantry squad with main weapon 7.92k Mkb 42(H)has a rather feeble sound when firing its MG42, not at all the same MG42 sound as other units. Is this a mistake?

Mud on hills

In autogenerated maps in spring or autumn, it seems that the map generator will put mud randomly here and there on the map. This often results in substantial areas of mud on hills.

Mud in real...

Maps with "holes"

Autogenerated maps frequently have depressions or holes in them, typically like the one here. In my experience, in real terrain there are seldom such depressions. Gullies that lead somewhere, yes,...

Re: GsW 736 (e)

24 rounds seems about right, considering that the ammo storage of the considerably larger FCM 36(f) is given as 36 in the same source.

Re: GsW 736 (e)

Lots of interesting info and pictures in that link DRG. While we are at it, in many of the pictures there is an MG34 on an AA mount. In game it currently has no MG.

Re: GsW 736 (e)

Quite possibly. I always assumed from the looks it was based on a bren carrier, but the track arrangement of the Vickers look very similar. As I said, I know very little about it. Still even based on...

GsW 736 (e)

This is one of the best German self propelled artillery units in the game on account of it having 40 rounds of ammo compared to the Wespe which has 30. It also has better armor than the Wespe. I find...

Re: Preprogrammed artillery fires still leads to random bombardments

I remember seeing it mentioned somewhere on this forum.

I don't have a save from this time, but will try to preserve one next time it happens.

Preprogrammed artillery fires still leads to random bombardments

When I preplan artillery fire for turn X, my guns are hijacked and will start firing at random places on the map, often before turn X. This was in the previous version and is still there with the...

Re: Keyboard requests

No I didn't expect you to rearrange all the keyboard shortcuts. What I did expect was perhaps a "We can see the problem, and we'll see if we can do anything about it" or something similar. I...

Re: Keyboard requests

So, you are saying, don't accidentally hit "D" when you intend to hit "F"!

The doctor might just as well tell the patient to stay in bed for the future!

Re: Keyboard requests

You are right, there is. However, any response key other than a "N" will be treated as a confirmation. Thus if you mistakenly press it, and then press another key not realizing that you had hit "V",...

Keyboard requests

I use the keyboard shortcuts quite a lot and find them useful. However, I have two small requests.

The "D" button for firing smoke discharges is very close to the "F" button for fire. Countless...

Re: Tanks in shallow water

I use shallow water for minor rivers.

Also speaking of landings, at Tarawa, a number of tanks got stuck while moving in shallow water, so it would certainly be realistic.

I don't think they can...

Re: Any Wreck Limit to Vision?

I really appreciate the change in burning vehicles and LOS, it really improves the game IMHO.

Actually, I would like to see even more reductions in the amount of smoke in the game. I am not...

Tanks in shallow water

I have noted that tanks appear to run no risk at all of being stuck and immobilized in shallow water. This seems odd to me, as there is a considerable risk of them getting immobilized crossing...

Re: Victory in a battle like this will crease your chance of promontion?

And BTW, since the special battles often describe me as defending against an enemy counterattack, wouldn't it be more logical if they were played on the same map as the battle I just played? Instead...

Victory in a battle like this will increase your chance of promotion?

What exactly are the benefits of winning a special battle? I have never to my knowledge been promoted.
