Re: Don't Feel Sorry For The AI

There may be some validity to what you say, but I have the gut feeling there isn't. Nonetheless, we usually don't take a platoon of units and protect the most experienced anymore than the others,...

Try looking for them in the following directory (it may not be exactly accurate as I do not know how your computer is set up):

Re: Don't Feel Sorry For The AI

I refer to 88ATG's because there is a 88flak version you might commonly call an ATG version, as at least it's ammunition allocation is the more clearly of the two guns, for that role, and it also...

Re: Don't Feel Sorry For The AI

I don't know, I think an elite PZIVB had a better chance of a kill in France or the USSR, than a veteran PZIVB, but maybe that's just me?

Re: Don't Feel Sorry For The AI

meaning that I have three units for every one unit of the enemy. 3 enemies X 3 units of mine = 9 total of mine units.

Number 2.

I made this comment based on the your comment, quoted below.

Re: Don't Feel Sorry For The AI

EVERY year the AI hands a player a hard time it's "suggested" the AI has an advantage. It's a regular event right along with us saying it doesn't get one so I won't bother saying it again

So, the...

Re: Don't Feel Sorry For The AI

2. Interesting, as the screen looks the same compared to day battles, it did not occur to me that it might be a night mission, but rather a heavy storm with fog perhaps.

3. Yes, that has been my...

Re: Don't Feel Sorry For The AI

RAMM: Thanks. I have often thought along the same lines regarding counter-battery artillery, but I have had these 100mm guns in games a long time, and at least in 39-40, out-range all guns, or at...

Re: Don't Feel Sorry For The AI

Basically I start out the long campaign as germany with 60 battles, with the most disadvantageous repair option (-20%) using like 3300pts starting out. Roughly speaking, this is the force...

Re: Don't Feel Sorry For The AI

My experience has been that the more units you have the slower they get experience.

Now I openly acknowledge that I do not know all the ways that units can get experience and so could be...

Re: Don't Feel Sorry For The AI

I started out with 3300pts.

Oh I know the more points the more likely to see artillery, especially if it's the most expensive unit amid countless ranks that are very cheap, I just had never seen...

Re: Don't Feel Sorry For The AI

I play on a 200X130. This makes something of a more mobile defense very necessary. When visibility is worse it's more crucial. I may had destroyed all of his tanks and despite him losing some 1247...

Don't Feel Sorry For The AI

I now know better. My 3rd battle in 9/39 Poland was so bad I thought I stood a chance to lose, though I came in with a fairly substabtial draw (which I consider a defeat). I was stupid enough to play...

Re: Armoured Car Tactics

To read some of the accounts, you would see that if they engaged anything, accidentally or otherwise, it was armored cars, and yet the lie has ballooned enough for people to not only think they were...

Re: Armoured Car Tactics

I heard something also, but don't recall where, where they talked to some Polish vets, and they said it was nothing more than propaganda by the Germans to make them look stupid, as indeed it would be...

Re: Armoured Car Tactics

Thanks, but I do think there is a case along the lines I've said, only it resides in SPWAW, which as long as I played that game can sometimes get the more subtle differences mixed up with this game.

Re: Armoured Car Tactics

Mobhack: Well maybe that's from SPWAW? Do you deny that there are units, even if they are not AC's in the recon class, which can see units better than others (IOW, spot them from further distances...

Re: Armoured Car Tactics

I'm pretty sure most AC's come within the recon class, therefore giving them greater vision than a standard light tank. In my way of playing, they are most valuable for guarding forward flank...

Re: Infantry - What Do You pick?

I have never seen an SMG which went over range 3. The winSPWW2 rifles are quite good, and often hit even at the maximum range of 10 in the better circumstances. As far as slot 4 goes though the AT...

Re: WinSPBT vs WinSPWW2 vs SP3WaW?

Another element that impacts how mines are laid is the number of battle points. Andy has mentioned there is a unit selection loop the AI goes through when selecting it's force so obstacle points are...

Re: WinSPBT vs WinSPWW2 vs SP3WaW?

I at one time had stated that mines in WW2 weren't simply just a matter of a solid line across the height of the map, as some seemed to believe. It's good to see somebody finally backed me up on...

Re: german 200 battle campaign

It is low when you consider that he had 200 battles selected. Even at the current rate I have, with 3 polish battles minimum in 60 battles, that's at a higher rate than 5 or 6 in 200. If my current...

Re: german 200 battle campaign

The number of Polish battles seems pretty inconsistent then.
