Re: Does INCV actually do anything?

The INCV command was introduced in v1.2 (1.22 for mac). The Ravian encounter (brood2) uses it to keep track of how many ravian fleets you've destroyed. Before you can use this command, you must set...

Re: SCOR values in MISN blocks

These are indeed multipliers for the price of items in each category. The only reason for using powers of two was to allow easier division (16/128 instead of 12.5/100 for increments of one eighth)...

Re: REMA, REMI, REMS questions

These should be listed in the !quest_files.txt in the quests folder...

REMA removes an item anywhere in your possession (cargo or installed)
REMS uses the hull name to identify the ship (e.g....

Re: Did Passenger handling change in a Patch?

If you want to create a quest that involves dropping someone off at a homeworld, you can now use the REMV command to take them off your ship. I don't think you should be able to drop them off...

Re: Weird Worlds Mac OS X patch for testing

It seems there's something wrong with how this version handles the game.cfg file. Ed's looking into it.

Looking at the patch files (I don't have a Mac), the Ravian files are definitely there and...

Re: New Mod: Sgqwonkian Crisis

Re: the attack command, yes I think it only works on offmap fleets... Just one of those things, we never had attacking fleets starting at a star (of course you couldn't tell that's the case anyway,...

Re: New Mod: Sgqwonkian Crisis

I've started the game about 20 times now, and played the gongship mainquest a couple of times. (I set it to always)

The problems so far:
- if you kill the gongship in combat (say, by using a...

Re: New Mod: Sgqwonkian Crisis

Have you tried different map sizes yet? Sometimes you can hit various limits easier on a larger map, while a small map works just fine.

Creating a ton of fleets will require you to modify the...

Re: New Mod: Sgqwonkian Crisis

Oh.. I thought the only crash was on the highscore screen (as it crashed when I went to view the highscores), which is what the game.cfg issue has to do with. I've only tried the actual game once...

Re: Weird Worlds Mac OS X patch for testing

The universal binary will not happen anytime soon. If I understand the situation correctly, there's some kind of a problem getting OpenAL to work with universal binaries.

I'm going to use my own...

Re: New Mod: Sgqwonkian Crisis

You should remove the game.cfg from the zip file, that's what's causing the crash. It seems to be from an incompatible version. Ideally, you should delete game.cfg, start the game, clear the high...

Re: time code bug

I think this may be caused by the endquest action on the first page. That would end the quest, yet it's waiting for the yes/no input from the player. Try moving that to the second page.

Re: Weird Worlds Mac OS X patch for testing

Well, in general the missile trails are tweaked to the lowest possible number of particles that didn't horribly offend me, but it seems the lost target state makes these particular ones (the second...

Re: Weird Worlds Mac OS X patch for testing

A crash at high score screen usually has to do with a bad game.cfg from an earlier or incompatible version (specifically, trying to display a player ship icon that is no longer there). Try...

Weird Worlds Mac OS X patch for testing

It's been a long wait, but the Mac OS X patch is nearing completion. However, we need a few volunteers to try it out and see if it works before we can declare it done. If you're interested, back up...

Re: Self replication

I debugged this last night, and found & fixed the crash problem with the bacteria. We may release a minor update to WW with this and other fixes soon.

Your crash has to do with carrier-launched...

Re: Tablet PC Support?

This appears to be a problem with the SDL library that Weird Worlds uses for all of its interactions with the OS. I haven't been able to find a workaround, and I don't know if or when the bug is...

Thanks, I'll take a look at this when I have some free time.

Re: Self replication

Can you attach a version of the mod (zipped) or upload it to a website so I can take a look at it?

There's a chance this could be related to the crash some people have experienced with the Ravian...

Re: Crackling sound issue

There's an ambient bridge noise that plays on the star map. It's in the music folder rather than ambient, because it's handled like background music.

Hard to say what the crackling sound is, but...

Re: Mac update- when?

I apologize for the delays. The guy who does all of our Mac versions hasn't been able to work on this in the last few months. We may need to find another Mac programmer.

Re: Patch for Vista??

The most likely problem is that your video card's drivers don't support OpenGL 3d acceleration, so the game is using Microsoft's software-based OpenGL implementation.

You may be able to get it to...
