Or allow a select few access to the code so the community could fix it.
So perhaps fighters aren't so bad? Has this been tested with an energy transmission lens? ( I would but I am at uni).

You can have the shield at.1 time remaining and in the same turn collapse/open warp points. The shield is then complete and you are safe.... Just make sure you do not screw up the orders. Also dont...

You can build spares in other systems, often a good idea if you fear being attacked.
THere is an absolute limit on how many resources that each converter can do, but I am not sure of the number.

The ship in the example was a very early build, but I assume that the escaping fleet must have had a ship built earlier? Does this mean we should keep our earliest ships...

Gamey is one way of phrasing it. It is a clear and problematic bug, it is the same as the old firing by player number problem.
As for "escaping" the supernova, unlikely, it blasts out at the speed...

100 ships already there, warped away, came back much later. From the move log it seems that it took at least 4 days to blow the star. The star destroyer orders were only kill star, not sentry.
