Re: HD combat in Syria

It's also interesting to realize how small an area urban fighting can restrict relatively large forces to. That tank platoon and at least a platoon of infantry were wholly focused on that alley, the...

Re: A Challenge for Airborne Rifles

Ok, here is the final turn. The this flank should be clear for the counter-attack.

Re: A Challenge for Airborne Rifles

I'm having a lot of fun with this battle wulfir. I'll probably finish up this weekend. Nasty surprise, that armored counterattack from the northeast, though I dealt with it surprisingly easily...

Re: A Challenge for Airborne Rifles

Thanks Wulfir, had some time on my hands and I blazed through this one. Much easier facing BMPs instead of T-64s. Expecting a more infantry heavy assault I deployed my defense further forward with my...

Is there an opportunity to submit scenarios to be included as part of the official release?

Re: A Challenge for Airborne Rifles

Ok, finally finished. Really fun scenario. I enjoyed playing the infantry-heavy defenders against the Russian armored onslaught. Overall my paratroopers did very well. I set up a series of engagement...

Re: Thermal Imaging and US Infantry

Well, I'm embarrassed to say I can't really intelligently talk specifically about max ranges for the thermal sights. We just used them so seldom and I had bigger things to worry about as a commander,...

Re: Thermal Imaging and US Infantry

When I was commanding my rifle company my arms room had about enough AN/PAS-13 thermal sights (split between light, medium, and heavy variants) to equip about half my company, and I know that is...

Re: A Challenge for Airborne Rifles

Wulfir, I'm enjoying the scenario very much, just having to take it slow right now, like a good scotch. I should have the save file to you this week. Thanks for this!

Re: A Challenge for Airborne Rifles

Awesome! 325th was my first unit. We had posters of PFC Haught with that qiote everywhere.

I accept the challenge, but it will take some time (three kids and a job, you know). Thanks!

Re: Help with setup

Za Rodina!

I think I've set you up a pretty realistic aftermath of a successful airborne assault. I'd be glad to see the finished product!

Re: Help with setup

The Russians actually developed more sophisticated ways to drop armored vehicles by parachute than did the U.S. they drop the vehicles on platforms fitted with retro-rockets that fire a coue meters...

Re: Help with setup

I'd be happy to give it a try as well. I have personal experience with airborne operations (US ones) and the friction that goes along with them. I've also looked a good deal Soviet airborne...

Re: Cuban Crisis - Norway

Having the Russians arrive a little further east makes sense to me. I had lost all the crossing points by the time they appeared so having them show up closer to the stream could simulate the...
