Re: New map in works - Bayt Hanun

At first, only the map (both 1980s and actual, though if there is some volunteer willing to play with Google Earth and converting the map to current state of things I will gladly leave this to him...

Re: New map in works - Bayt Hanun

After a bit of hiatus caused by change of monitor (or, rather, of change of table and not willing to manhandle the huge CRT back for just a day) got back to work yesterday, village Erez is ready as...

Re: What 3 companies should I buy If I want to be as accurate as possible?

Re: Any Suggestions (13,2mm and 15,1mm HMG)

The French 13.2mm MG isn't using German 13mm AP cartridge AFAIK but smaller Hotchkiss cartridge, making it rather poor performer IRL wherever it was used (though mostly as AAMG).
German 13mm...

Re: Helico hunting Aircraft?

Let's not forget there was a Hind shot down by Paveway GBU during the Desert Storm ;) IIRC, back in SP2, I saw once aircraft attack a helo (in normal gameplay) but was pretty rare event. Anyway, air...

Re: Gliders or Paratroop transport?

Do not forget that no Abn Regiment commander is going to borrow some ground pounder schmuck colonel a company or a platoon to support his smallish tactical offensive ;) If you want airborne op in...

Re: How do I increase arty effectiveness against armor?

155 is often enough to inconvenience light amor and strip it off the heavy armor, but 105s are really more an inf-botherers :)

Re: How do I increase arty effectiveness against armor?

Not too much IMO, as the main weapon for dealing with infantry is suppression ;)

Re: Georgia vs Russia 2008

My bet... Some new variant of airborne Type 63 launcher. Only two rows of 4 tubes instead of normal 3x4, but the rocket fits exactly.

Re: Ideas how to improve WinSP MBT/WW2 !

Just an idle thought that occured to me when driving through our villages... What about changing wooden buildings a bit so that they can be partially transparent (visibility block similar to trees)...

Re: StuG Question.

Oh, it's just a vague recollection about a side note in one book about WWI naval combat, comparing German and British rangefinders, but then maybe the problem was in something completely different...

Re: Ammo Loadouts, and Z-fire Abuse

Copying over from the Tank-Net, basic load .30-06 for US infantry 1941.

That means quite plenty of ammo was available. Given the most frequent mode of fire even for MMG or HMG were short...

Re: Ammo Loadouts, and Z-fire Abuse

Re running out of ammo, remember the length of the game in realtime. IIRC in real life, it was rare for machineguns and rifles to run out of ammo, units tended to run out of men way faster (I cannot...

Re: counter battery fire

Nope, but if you turn off tubes 1 and 2 (or just 1), you may (in a longer battle) find the two tubes with full ammo stock invaluable in the later phase of the battle.
The best "how to" is: Buy a...
