It's a campaign so...
"smoke" your position
rally your troops
and get the hell out of there!!!

wulfir is right.

You could consider other options if you had an "uncommited" reserve but...

Re: dry stream beds

Plus that the -1,-2 or -3 "Levels" are not height levels but probably a "code attribute"(?) to diversify stream, shallow and deep water hexes from level 0 ground terrain?

Re: JU87 not turning

Did they "lock on" a target and conduct a bombing/strafing run?
Was the target to the "right" side of the map?
Could the plane do a "low left entry - hit target - high left exit" in a simple path?...

Re: Helo Scouts-Recon by Suicide?

It depends on what kind of forces you anticipate it to "identify". Infantry under cover in that small patch of trees beside the crossroad? Nahhh. Armor columns moving in the distance? Yeap! Gamewise,...

Re: what time period is the most even for US vs USSR?

I guess that the US "lag" in upgrading "tactical" battlefield weapons/platforms was a result of shifting its attention to "strategic" assets in the post WW2-50s era. No time or funds to improve your...

Re: what time period is the most even for US vs USSR?

Actually I was thinking more about Chechnya then Georgia.
For a major war you must be prepared beforehand.
If you see the Russian goverment "buying" more of its weapons that's a great indicator...

Re: what time period is the most even for US vs USSR?

Depends on the war you "expect".
Did the "Caucasus Conflicts" speed up the introduction of already developed systems in the russian army?
Can your economy put up with the costs underlying a rapid...

Re: what time period is the most even for US vs USSR?

Exactly.
Technological "balance" is only one aspect in the overall balance of forces.

Re: what time period is the most even for US vs USSR?

More or less I agree on the (mid?)60s era.
For the present day there is a question though.
The Russians have the tech BUT do they actually "field" all those modern weapon systems/platforms in...

Re: Russian Designers ? ?

If you're a "scenario" player and interested in the so called "minor" allies and less "commercial" (:)) battles/opposing forces yes you have a major problem with the language/abbreviation issue....

Re: Greek Army TO&E and OOB errors

Re: Greek Army TO&E and OOB errors

Info is a good thing.
Info from what seems a reputable source is even better.
The question is who will do the dirty job now:
1. Cross validating data and
2. Feedng them in the game?

I hope a...

Re: How much difference does the kind of rifle make?

Gamewise I'd go for the extra "kill" factor, in a Nam-era campaign. In jungle terrain "fields of fire" can be limited (dense trees) BUT you always need some long range assets to "overwatch" the odd...
