Re: Merkava.

Re. Sherman, nope, in the inside, because the cut-off unit was behind a wide open valley drenched in MG and mortar fire. Entry and exit via escape hatch.
Same method used for CASEVAC and even for...

Re: Merkava.

The described 1973 scene is a bit of old PR trick ;) The soldiers were fully armed, not fully kitted, and the same with Merkava used.
Otherwise IDF would have to either employ exceptionally small...

Re: request advices on heat armor

The added HEAT protection is definitely worth the cost, along with better ammo loads etc.
The front hull is usually well off enough at 8 or so - meaning that if the bazooka is fired at an angle, it...

Re: Tank Day 2010

Oh, forgot, for Andy and Don, here are stats of the Pandur M1 with the slats:
Length (without/with slats): 7384/8420 mm
Width )ditto): 2670/3440 mm
Height (RCWS in combat/travel mode) 3790/2680 mm...

Re: Tank Day 2010

As Warwick said, the Tank day is annual, kinda "closing the season" event. Plus there is an "opening the season" with another special days, dedicated to various branches of ground equipment - the...

Re: Creating OOBs

So it is good to have the "original OOB" formations as a template atleast for basic types, like infantry platoon/co etc.
It IS possible to alter AI picklist, BUT... It is also possible to jump from...

Re: True Troop Cost

Machineguns and direct fire guns are your friend in such situations. Keep them tucked behind your infantry, fire direct if they can, indirect if you have to. Create a killing zone (for example a wide...

Re: spotting when turning around your units

But then any turn on movement will cost points as well... would be hard to code that... Maybe penalise turn larger than say 60 degrees only?
Might also change reactions of turretless vehicles to...

Re: Filter options for SAMs

Also depends on which UAVs... Maybe SAMs not firing on size 0-1 aircrafts? Could cover also Stealth crafts (though they usually ended in massive amounts of AA fired, just hitting squat)

Re: M5A1's vs Panzer 3's and 5's

The 37mm US gun, once it got decent ammo, was I believe the most powerful 37mm of the WWII, so with side shots or close-in front turrets these Panzers would suffer.

Re: Creating OOBs

To use OOB in the game, it HAS to be in place of one of the national slots.
R+D slots are good for just that - R+D, but to use the new OOB in the game, you HAVE to place it in an appropriate slot....
