Re: Overlords - Experimental game. Concept thread

One other idea I had when looking at the map manual was you could set the overlords' non-cap provs to have a certain ammount of unrest at the start of the game. They would start with only their gem...

Re: Overlords - Experimental game. Concept thread

I would say overlords perhaps should not have their full province count. If they had only 10/15 to start, then the problem of spammed domspread is lessened since they need to take an extra 5 before...

Re: Overlords - Experimental (ma?) game

Did you have some sort of idea what you wanted for the map? As in generally what placements, how many provs the overlords get and how many extra gems, etc? Depending on how hard it might be, I might...

Re: Overlords - Experimental (ma?) game

I wouldn't put a forge bonus site (or any bonus site) anywhere on the map. Why not just hand out a gate stone and if they lose it, too bad for them. If they're forgable, they can be wished for...

Re: 100-precision area-effect spell targeting

I'll try my best to reproduce solo self-bless failures. Usually it happens when I'm testing a thug strat, or simulating a solo battle, so in other words I run the same or similar battle dozens or...

Re: EA Agartha - the game's red-headed stepchild (CBM)

I've seen Sidhe Lords miss themselves with blessing. They were the only unit on the field. I've also seen Harbingers miss themselves, and Dis, and Yaksha. Again, the only friendly unit on the field....

Re: Forge of Godhood - started

Bad luck on your part. I didn't coordinate it with Tien Chi. And even if I had, I definitely didn't think your army would be defeated.

e: And to be fair, if you are simply complaining about...

Re: MA Abysia: The Burninator Flies Again

I want to mention that pretty much everything in this guide works for LA Abysia as well. Plus the recruit-anywhere bloodhunters solve your warlock shortage. The exception being that you don't have...

Re: EA Nation Early/Mid Strength?

In EA? The answer is probably none. R'lyeh is your closest bet, followed by Atlantis. The others all can manage with either elite troops or commanders.

Re: Noobs vs. Vets III: Revolution, MA, CBM. Let's get it on!

Tell Machaka to break siege before his guys all die from disease. This particular fort is really easy to starve, as I discovered earlier.

I think Lingchih is subbing for Atul. Not 100% sure.

Re: Niefelheim Strategy for the Early Era

It's in the Strategy Index, so anyone looking for Niefel strats might read it.

Re: EA Nation Early/Mid Strength?

The only one I disagree with is MA Oceania; Ichtycentaurs are pretty damn good at expansion. After that is the issue.

LA Bogarus comes to mind.

Re: EA Agartha - the game's red-headed stepchild (CBM)

Have you actually done the testing? In my experience, any regen makes a large difference, although I have heard it does scale (and I have also heard it does not). I noticed a significant difference,...

Re: EA Agartha - the game's red-headed stepchild (CBM)

Very nice guide, and I agree with a lot of it. Luck is definitely useful if you can afford it, although I would say moreso for gem events than heroes. Furthermore, make it a priority to search all...

Re: Noobs vs. Vets III: Revolution, MA, CBM. Let's get it on!

It's fun all right. My concern is that it isn't "realistic", as in you won't find any other games that play this way. If the point is to teach you, well I know you've learned plenty, but standard...

Re: Fire vs. Death heavy bless

More territory translates rather directly into more gem income and more blood income. You will agree that a more effective bless means faster territory gain? But that's only the first step, you need...

Re: Noobs vs. Vets III: Revolution, MA, CBM. Let's get it on!

We couldn't afford the luxury. All of us poured it on research early, except Ermor and Ashdod. I think Baalz had a Great Sage that did more than 40 RP a turn. The general idea is early army vs army...

Re: Noobs vs. Vets III: Revolution, MA, CBM. Let's get it on!

Not much to discuss. Its clear who is responsible for what fronts, we aren't really raiding much, so not much to coordinate. When someone else on my team needs to know something I'm doing, I let them...

Re: Forge of Godhood - started

On the topic of the phoenix (and yeah, I should bring this to the CBM thread), it doesn't just get afflictions and become temporarilly inconveinenced, it racks them up so quickly that end of year 1...

Re: Noobs vs. Vets III: Revolution, MA, CBM. Let's get it on!

I, too, throw my only supercombatant into situations where I except he will be killed for no discernable benefit.

In all seriousness, you needed a way to stop my guy from running off...

Re: Fire vs. Death heavy bless

They're low damage in that each attack itself is low damage. Obviously jags do a ton of damage, but each individual attack isn't a big one like, say, a giant like the Unmarked sacred.

My point is...

Re: Fire vs. Death heavy bless

Not only does the fire bless scale itself up, but the death bless does not scale itself in terms of both atk and MR. MR checks are always vs 10. So if you're fighting chaff with MR 10 and you're...

I had planned to wake up just in time (aka now), just in case, so would have been ok anyway.

Re: Noobs vs. Vets III: Revolution, MA, CBM. Let's get it on!

Sorry guys, but can I request a 24-hour extension of the current turn? I need to put some thought into my turn and I'll be gone all Sunday. Thanks.

Re: Noobs vs. Vets III: Revolution, MA, CBM. Let's get it on!

I'm fine with us finding a sub or game on hold. I personally have said I would like to continue. Fact is Atul and I and our little empires are still in great shape and namad has basically been...
