Re: OT: One-color Lava Lamp

C++ is easy, believe me... wait till you try doing assembly (or even just the raw machine bytes...), or COBOL.
C++ is easy, because you can do easy C stuff. After some basic procedural stuff,...

Re: OT: One-color Lava Lamp

C++ is an easy language to get started with, so I'm sure people here know a bit. Most people here probably don't do programming as a job, I'd bet.
I'm a Java programmer at the moment, but my...

Re: OT: Nothing More Frustrating

My region has about 4 million sims...
My strategy for building a city is to build a "core": a large block (8x8 or larger) that has all the main utilities (not power), place a power plant and dump...

Re: RE How to Kick the Retail Habit

Frankly, I don't see "mainstream" as an addiction. I buy most games at a store, so what? Independent developers are great too, so I'll buy their stuff too.
Maybe I'm missing the point, but I'm...

Re: OT: One-color Lava Lamp

Not bad at all... I need to learn DX9. I've done openGL, before, and I wasn't too impressed.
Is it on a time controlled loop to prevent going faster or slower on different computers?

Re: Did God Invent Us, Or Did We Invent Him

SJ, you raise a valid point. But, as I said, we shouldn't fear it or ban it. GM food is one example. The general public sees it as "frankenfood," which just is not true. Copious amounts of...

Re: Did God Invent Us, Or Did We Invent Him

So you're against animal husbandry? We've been genetically manipulating animals and plants for thousands of years. Genetic mondification isn't some bogeyman we can just invoke to scare people.

Re: Shrapnel to Take on Wargamer.com?

Oh, that's true; you don't see too many independent FPS games.

Re: Did God Invent Us, Or Did We Invent Him

The point of those two scriptures was to show how ridiculous portions of the Bible are.
And yes, I've read the Bible. I spent a lot of time in Bible study classes. I read the story of Job too. ...

Also, updating your mainboard's BIOS could help, sometimes a...

Re: Shrapnel to Take on Wargamer.com?

How frequently must one post to this site? I might consider posting things, especially about first person shooters.
