Re: Remake

I say this only in the spirit of 'wish list', but I always thought it would be immersive if the map were a static 2D satelite picture. Lifted off Google earth for instance, zoomed to the right scale,...

Re: Screen resolution poll

I play on my widescreen HD TV which has the odd 'HD ready' resolution of 1360 x 768.
I play full screen for the shallow reason that I'm not keen on having a windows border around the game. I think...

Re: Campaign Generator

Oh well, shame.
At least I know for sure now.
Thanks.

Re: Campaign Generator

Oooof! Are you sure?
I've just spent the last half hour trying, and I've not had a single delay or defend.
What am I doing wrong?

Cheers.

Campaign Generator

Is there any way to 'force' certain battle types in the campaign generator?
I started a new campaign and wanted to begin with a defend, as that seemed fitting for the 'war' I had in mind. But...

Re: LAW 80 firing AP at infantry?!?!

Full marks to Listy and Narwan for truly helpful answers! Thanks very much, your replies explain everything.

I knew the LAW 80 has a HEAT warhead, I was only pointing out that I had put the ammo...

Re: LAW 80 firing AP at infantry?!?!

Thanks Listy, that's very helpful. It is a shame though as I'd like things like the LAW to be purely for armour so I don't have to turn them on and off every time I fire at infantry. Is there a good...

Re: LAW 80 firing AP at infantry?!?!

I did read that, but does it still apply as the ammo for these chaps is in the AP slot not the HEAT slot?

LAW 80 firing AP at infantry?!?!

I've made myself an SAS fighting column in the OOB editor, (ok, as far as realism goes, the battles are probably utter nonsense, but they are very cool!), but some (not all) of the SAS patrol units...

Re: My SPMBT comments

Any fictional units would definatly need to be marked as such, so you can choose to use them or not as suits your game. I mention it because although I do use the OOB editor (though I must admit I...

Re: Micro Air Vehicles in WinMBT

I suppose I'm suggesting that in the same way as vision over 40 represents those technologies that can see through smoke, there should be another increment above that can represent units receiving...

Re: Micro Air Vehicles in WinMBT

Wouldn't it be easiest to represent it by just having the thrower (a FO unit probably) having a very large vision rating?

Re: My SPMBT comments

Thanks for the replies chaps. Very useful stuff (I can't believe I didn't know about the binocular button!)

Another thought that struck me the other day is this;
shouldn't the OOB be a little...

My SPMBT comments

It's funny that Doom was the first computer game I ever played, and Steel Panthers was the second. I've carried on playing all the types of games that came after Doom, quite happily too, but they...
