That example makes the unexplored areas go from almost-invisible to clearly visible, to me.
However I still can't see the "known but not currently seen" areas until I jack up my gamma settings.

I've looked closer at this.
I can see it fine with gamma set to +2 or so. Nothing in Approaching Infinity really looks too bright with gamma +2, and even the text is slightly easier to read, for...

Ah, I should have wrote 8, not 9, the first time. It won't show commodities with 8 or 9 (or more?) devices in cargo, if there are only 2 types of commodities. With 7 devices, it does.

Now you can work on having space pirates who see an item drifting in space go pick it up, and possibly drop it again when blasted (or be on their wreck if they leave a wreck). :D

That looks pretty destructive!
Closest thing I've seen is firing laser shotgun at certain underground black things... (which fortunately don't move) (shh! don't give him ideas! :doh:)
