It's more than an exploit.

It is a basic problem for simul battle planning.

What it means is that any ship with PDCs simply cannot ever be trusted to follow it's individual strategy....

Frustrated that your baseships (or dreadnoughts) can't catch those BBs or BCs or others using a max range strategy?

Often, a stack of fighters (say 20) will be targeted by my ships non-PDC weapons in Simultaneous Movement games.

If the fighter design includes one or more shields, then shield-sapping weapons...

I experience the problem even when I do not direct the shooter to switch targets after a set damage inflicted.

That is, even if I have it set not to shift fire until after the target is destroyed,...

The way I thought Multiplex worked was as follows:

1) PDC do not need it

2) Shooter picks a target per Fleet and Empire options and shoots until target destroyed or shooter runs out of...

Of course, as I had said, I was referring to the non-Gold Version of the game. In that Version, the player order dictates the combat execution order.

I know that the Neural Net allows every ship in a fleet to use the experience stats of the best ship in the fleet.

Yes, and I confirmed it, just to prove it to myself. I did it in the Simulator and then I went to a saved game, built the test ships, then gifted them to the AI and proceeded to beat on them.
