Curse you, stand still!

You think yourselves so clever, flying all about. But just you wait. There WILL come a moment when you can fly no longer.

Re: reply thread for Dominions II: AARs sticky pos

Not a big deal, but if you feel like it you can set my Machaka AAR as "completed" or whatever.

Re: reply thread for Dominions II: AARs sticky pos

Obviously, I'd like my Machaka SP AAR bookmarked. It's here (http://www.shrapnelcommunity.com/threads/showflat.php?Cat=&Number=402251&page=0&view=collapsed&sb=5&o=31&fpart=1). If you want to give it...

Re: Your experiences with \"Stygian Pathes\", please

Well, I've used it once, and it worked fine. Delivered a Tartarian and his Tartarettes to the front lines when it would have taken ten turns just to walk them. I think maybe I lost 1 soldier on the...

War has been joined

The nation of Jotunheim, finding itself boxed in on all sides, has declared war upon the dangerous expansionist mercenary-hoarding powers of Tien Chi.

Besides which, they were massing Hoburg...

Re: Deapalegia

Despite everything, these demos have not been very big (loud & violent, and very stupid, but not big), compared to eg the big demos & counter-demos in Lebanon last year, or the big anti-terrorism...

Re: I\'m baaack.

Well, in any case there was one humongous piece of good luck on your watch, and I'd rather have a lucky sub than a good one any day =)

Re: Concede?

Wailing Ladies freespawn in SG Ermor. Pretty rare, though, maybe 1 per 10 ghosts or so in high dominion temple districts.

I\'m baaack.

Thanks to KB for taking my turns for me. My very small nation of very big people is ready to get some work done. Too bad about losing a few niefel giants, but it's all in the service of the Cause.

Re: Need sub for winnowing (noob game) - Jotunheim

Never mind. I'm gone. Ironhawk has my info, although I by no means think he's obligated to pick up for my own hasty departure.

Cheers all.

Re: The Winnowing (Noob Game) - open

Well, all, I'm off to a monastery in the middle of the Egyptian desert (no kidding), hence incommunicado. Hope Ironhawk can sort out my turns okay. It's perfectly okay with me if he or someone...

Re: The Winnowing (Noob Game) - open

You should hug those 40 design points you got from that misfortune pick tightly to you, Mr. TheWatcher. They will console you. No doubt.

Need sub for winnowing (noob game) - Jotunheim

Hi. I'm playing Jotunheim in the winnowing / noob game, and something came up of a sudden that will take me out of town and away from my beloved internet from Friday through Tuesday. If someone could...

Re: The Winnowing (Noob Game) - open

Yay! New turn! Now everyone do their turn quick so I can get in another in the morning (my time) before handing off to whoever. (By the way, I still need a sub).

Ermor and Pangaea are up to 3...

Sub needed for Jotunheim.

Unexpected invite. Going to be going away for the weekend, through Tuesday, and won't have net access. Still early going, so it should be pretty easy. PM me for a password and some basic instructions...

Re: The Winnowing (Noob Game) - open

Me, I think "army size" should be a reflection of total biomass, not just "number of individual soldiers". I'm pretty sure Jotunheim would be competitive in a measure of "total pounds of troops".

Re: Help! strats using T\'ien Chi\'s Celestial Mages

The way to use footmen etc. is to send them off to the front a turn or two early, then zip your mage plus demons in at the last minute (cruising in from another front, or sitesearching, or doing...

Re: The Winnowing (Noob Game) - open

I'd be willing to do a restart. Ulm, especially, takes it on the chin from missing at turn of production. OTOH, I guess with a game this big you have to expect the occasional stalers.

On gems

One thing you can do to make sure your mages don't blow all their gems summoning elementals (which they will, if the battle outruns their scripts) is to give a scout several battles' worth of gems...
