Now the only problem is that if you installed the patch earlier today, you can't install the new patch because its not the correct Version number....

The first six lines are the maximum size the ai ships can be for the specified turns.
Tampa_Gamer has a better method of just setting all lines to 0.

I've gone over the default_ai files since installing the new patch, and I haven't seen any changes to them. I'm going to be updating my mod soon, for now just use my old mod to test....

You should be able to mod it out. I always thought that you could have ai use anything to fill up space? I haven't downloaded the patch yet, but I guess I'll do it now and try to fix this problem.

You would then have to make the ai not upgrade and update their design every chance that they get. As it stands right now, the ai tries every turn to update and retrofit their ships.

My mod fixes this, so it makes it a lot harder for an ai race to surrender. You can also set in the ai_politics file, whether the race surrenders by the true/false line, and also the score line...

You need to have scanners/sensors on that particular ship in order to see what is on the enemy ship. You also have to have your ship at least within 5 to 6 squares of the enemy ship as well.
