Re: Stuck in Poland?

Well at least I know this is by design, though I don't like it. I would had rather those extra 4 battles (assuming there are 6 total) take place in NAfrica or the USSR. Am I correct then that there's...

Re: Stuck in Poland?

That is because the campaign clock is deliberately slowed down in Poland, since you have the phony war coming on later on to skip over. More battles = a more experienced core in France.

Stuck in Poland?

I have found the following to be the case before, and I wonder where it will stop. I have 2 decisive victories and now am on the start of the 3 battle. The problem is, though I picked the 60 battle...

Infantry - What Do You pick?

It has occured to me that when discussing long campaign forces we generally talk about how much infsntry we picked, but never about what kind, at least not to the degree that we mention what they do....

Re: Unit command size

90-110 units. There are formally only 3 companies, and the remaining remnants, though attached to the formal companies would possibly amount to another 1-1/2 companies.

Re: Subordinate To Commander Ratio

To me, the leader must be taken out of the quotient to affirm his main mission isn't firing, and will fire little or none at all against superior fire. For example, unless I was dead certain he was...

Re: Subordinate To Commander Ratio

Hello Narwan,

Yes, I think I have come to agree on that point, that you are better off with the lower subordinate ratio with the weaker forces. With weaker forces over the course of a campaign,...

Re: DAR: Poland

Yes, it's pretty funny, that it seems no matter what you do, if you flip the patty over, the other side is cooling off. Take for example the discussion we had about my very high maps. The AI did get...

Re: Subordinate To Commander Ratio

I quite agree, but sometimes I think lone units are better off with what I imagine, or heard, that A0 has a longer command reach than company CO's. My lone units (or semi-alone) are at times so far...

Re: DAR: Poland

Hmmm, very similar to my first Polish campaign battle, which was a meeting engagement. Visibility about 25 I think.

Losses:
Germany - men=65, and AFV's=3
Poland - men=1489, artillery=10,...

Re: How do I use ammo trucks?

Well how's about getting back on track ammo truck-wise then?

I post the following as a point of consideration for campaigners against the AI, how scripted campaigns would work in this regard, I...

Re: Operational Discussion

Ignoring "best" results where the WH size adds extra (and are not there to bet the farm on) - the 88L71 and the 128kwk are both reliably producing 18 at 1400m (but both 20 at 1100, though 18 for the...

Re: How do I use ammo trucks?

Just an observation guys. I can get sidetracked from a thread's subject matter all too easily myself, and most of the time I don't mind sidetracking occuring because of that, but I do find it rather...

Imp: What is this thread called? I think the forums are to discuss the game. Do you see me talking about my personal life? Do you recall RERomine started it because the ammo truck thread got too...

Re: winSPMBT and WinSPWW2 and VISTA

I installed on a new Vista home Premium 64 SP1 about 2-3 weeks ago. No problems at all with directories etc.

BUT, the "first" game I installed, disn't go so well. It was Sins of a Solar Empire. I...

Re: Attack Assault battles

RERomine: Excuse me for not reading the whole thread first, but this wasn't from a long campaign was it? Oh nevermind, I scanned around a bit and found it was not.

Re: Subordinate To Commander Ratio

Thanks, but I wasn't really wanting a definition of why there's a 10 tank platoon. It's nice data, but I was looking for an observation of what it means to actually use these diffeent sizes and what...

I didn't ask you anything, merely pointed out what you probably already knew. You sure are testy aren't you (asked rhetorically)? And I will present data as I please, so quit trying to bully me...

Re: Operational Discussion

I'm sure you know well that there are better German guns than what you listed, though those are very good. Don't make the mistake of thinking the 88 on the Tiger is a real good one, because the...

Re: Operational Discussion

I think the gun manlet was worth 100-120mm alone! But as it's been a while since I knew what I thought was the correct amount, I will have to pass on discussing it until the day comes that i use them...

Re: Subordinate To Commander Ratio

I was approaching the question I put to everyone, as a means of figuring of what the best gamewise use is, irrespective or not irrespective of the fact of real life history. There is historical...

Yeah, well consensus if often pretty ignorant. Look at nazi Germany for example. Also look at the consensus that gave Hitler his edge in other nations, where they were cowardly enough to give away a...
