That's a good point, however, I'm getting inclined to believe that a significant portion is age, this computer is about 6 years old and, being a laptop, been dropped a few times... ...

Hehe, I've got the cash. I was budgeting to go wild with the buying scrolls, but the stash of spellbooks at the Archmage's saved me about 20,000 GP. And... Hmm... maximised delayed blast fireball......

Yeah, he's higher level than I was when we cast that so he could become a bigger dragon. Plus he's an NPC so it's automatically exempt from munchikinism or something.

Hmmm, true. Tough to say which is better though, since if you've got allies in the area, a Fireball is going to hit them as well. Psh, fighter classes. Puny damage, the lot of 'em. Aargh how'd it get...

If you have more than 240 HP you're safe from disintegrate. At least... safe assuming nothing else hits you.

Edit: I know this is the wrong XL, but what do you think? Barb/Sorc...
