Re: Mephisto MOD 1.60

I have noticed this as well. When I check how my mods have effected the AI I look at their build queue and am no longer amazed that I can outbuild them so quickly. I almost never have a build queue...

Re: strewth

Well the armor would be on every ship and the repair ships would wander around by themselves and be destroyed. The biggest problem isn't in the design of the ships but their actions. The design can...

Re: Most useful Intelligence Projects

I can't remember for sure but I thought that with level 2 detection you can see into nebulas. But without detectors you will not see an enemy ship in that system.

Re: Atmospheric conditions - what impact do they have?

Well I converted a lot of asteroids to planets and the conditions of the planet that resulted was much better than the condition of the asteroid before. I guess that makes sense if you create a...

Re: strewth

This has always been around. Didn't you wonder why the AI always has damaged ships and goes through the damaging wormholes? Even if you set up systems to avoid your ministers and the AI ignore that....

Re: Computer AI bonus

Well a lot of badly designed bigger and higher tech ships. They seem to research things much quicker if you give them a bonus. If you are a conquorer style race though soon you will catch up with...

Re: Changes I made so far to the game

Baron watch out for those engines. I did that mod too and the AI used the engines instead of supply storage units when they researched them because they have larger supplies than the supply storage...

Re: Oh this is just sick and wrong

On a related note if you have a race that breathes "none" and you launch them into space shouldn't they still be there later?

Also if you repopulate a rioting world with new colonists aren't...

Re: Atmospheric conditions - what impact do they have?

The only harsh or deadly conditions I see are on asteroids. In my current game I am building ships to convert them to planets now so I will soon see if the conditions of that planet are directly...

Re: invasion 101 ???

Also if you are moving populations around remember that if you keep two or more races on the same world too long they will get unhappy. They don't seem to like being on the same world even if they...

Re: Poll: Which form of happiness

Since I almost never waste time making treaties with the AI I usually pick bloodthirsty. Why trade when you can conquer? Also look at ship construction you get -50 for that on bloodthirsty. How many...

Re: Oh this is just sick and wrong

Yes it was sick and evil to space them that was a waste of good slave colonists to work in the mines of your worlds especially if they breathe a different atmosphere type than you.

Re: AI settings errors?

The Last revision significantly modified the .txt files in the \SEIV\pictures\races area. It added some information to the settings.txt file and added some completely new files to existing races. The...

Re: Problems emailing Malfador about SE4...

It probably got overloaded when they went on vacation. With all the people E-mailing them reguarly it would tend to fill up in much less than a week. I would give them a few days to catch up on it,...

Re: Units and ship maximums

Well the maximum you can set it to is 2000 and there is no reason not to except if the turns start to bog down with the computer taking to long for its turns in the later game. I believe I read long...

Re: Newborn race?

Since I like to play low tech or medium tech games most of the time saving the empire really messes up the ship design area. It seems that any designs I have obsoleted are discarded for the saved...

Re: How about a \"MOD REPORT\" thread?

I don't know the sales numbers for SEIV but I know it has sold out at least a couple of times and they had to make more so it sold better than anticipated at least.

Re: Anyone else have touble seeing the tiny ships?

The Sallega ships are the smallest I have seen. They can sneak up on you because they are so small they just about dissapear into the background. Maybe its a stealth trait for their race. Even when I...

Re: AI fighters needs better weapons!!

Some of them at least do research smaller weapons. I have seen level 2 on some AI fighters. Not as often as they should perhaps but they have a big tree to research and they usually have fewer...

Re: Atrocities what is your e-mail?

Well the reason you don't find e-mail addresses here is because you have the option not to put them on your profile. I found out long ago that forums are prime places for people to grab your E-mail...

Re: Conquered races - additional benefit: forced migrations and growing of planets

Thats easy they just use their portable brain wipe equipment and write them a new personality. Then they see that my empire is a much better place to live. This works much better than those old...

Re: Anyone know how to set specific ship positions in formations?

I don't know specifically how to do it because I haven't played around with it yet but the thing you need to look at is Formations.txt in the Data directory. That is what specifies what the...
